Abstract:
An improved frequency selective surface (FSS) comprises a periodically replicated unit cell, the unit cell including a material having a first electrical conductivity in the presence of an external condition, and a second electrical conductivity in the absence of an external condition, or in the presence of a modified external condition. For example, the material may be a chemoresistive material, having an electrical conductivity that changes in the presence of a chemical or biological analyte, i. e. having a first value of electrical conductivity in the presence of the analyte, and a second value of electrical conductivity in the absence of the analyte.
Photocurable compositions which include a). at least one (meth)acrylate-functionalized monomer; b). at least one (meth)acrylate-functionalized oligomer; c). particles of at least one core/shell copolymer; and d). at least one photoinitiator are useful for forming durable, impact resistant coatings on nails.

Abstract:
A dynamic eyepiece for projecting an image to an eye of a viewer includes a waveguide layer having an input surface, an output surface opposing the input surface, and a periphery. The waveguide layer is configured to propagate light therein. The dynamic eyepiece also includes a mechanical structure coupled to at least a portion of the periphery of the waveguide layer. The mechanical structure is operable to apply a first mechanical force to the at least a portion of the periphery of the waveguide layer to impose a first surface profile on the output surface of the waveguide layer and apply a second mechanical force to the at least a portion of the periphery of the waveguide layer to impose a second surface profile different from the first surface profile on the output surface of the waveguide layer.
