Abstract:

A method, system, and medium are provided for processing customer orders associated with providing telephony services via a telecommunications network and with services provided via a cable network. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a service-order-entry (SOE) system associated with a set of legacy components, the SOE system being operable to receive a first type of customer order that is associated with providing services via a telecommunications network, the telecommunications network not including a cable television (CATV) network; supplementing the SOE system with a secondary order-reception system operable to receive a second type of customer order that is associated with providing telephony services over a CATV network and further operable to receive the second type of customer order without substantially modifying the legacy components; receiving the second type of customer order; and fulfilling the second type of customer order without substantially modifying the legacy components.

Abstract:

A system for tracking communications resources. The system includes a first database configured to store data indicative of usage of numeric identifiers assigned to a service provider. The system also includes a computing device in communication with multiple databases via a network. The multiple databases including numeric identifier usage information associated with multiple service providers. The computing device executes software to query the first database and the multiple databases to retrieve information associated with the service provider to determine current utilization of numeric identifiers by the service provider and to determine months to exhaust of numeric identifiers, and automatically generate a report utilizing the current utilization and months to exhaust in response to determining the current utilization and months to exhaust.

Abstract:

A method and system for automatically generating and maintaining Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) addresses is provided. The method includes receiving a request from a requestor that includes an element identifier corresponding to a network element to be ultimately associated with the ATM address, validating the request, providing a unique identifier that corresponds to the network element, grouping the unique identifier with a set of parameters to create the ATM address without user intervention, and storing the ATM address in a repository. The system includes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for receiving one or more parameters to be used to generate the ATM address and a set of computer-useable instructions accessible by the GUI that perform a method for generating the ATM address without user intervention based in part on the one or more parameters.
