Abstract:
A wireless LAN communications system capable of supporting communications within a multidisciplinary group or team of individuals, each person equipped with a wireless LAN radio and assigned to one of a number of possible roles in carrying out the mission of the team. A multicast IP address corresponding to a specific role within the group, a multicast IP address corresponding to a specific subgroup within the group, or a multicast IP address corresponding to a generic subgroup within the group is assigned to each LAN radio.
Method And Apparatus For Increasing Performance Of Http Over Long-Latency Links
The invention increases performance of HTTP over long-latency links by pre-fetching objects concurrently via aggregated and flow-controlled channels. An agent and gateway together assist a Web browser in fetching HTTP contents faster from Internet Web sites over long-latency data links. The gateway and the agent coordinate the fetching of selective embedded objects in such a way that an object is ready and available on a host platform before the resident browser requires it. The seemingly instantaneous availability of objects to a browser enables it to complete processing the object to request the next object without much wait. Without this instantaneous availability of an embedded object, a browser waits for its request and the corresponding response to traverse a long delay link.

Abstract:
A system and method are provided for automatic photo-image discovery and storage. A photo-image discovery device scans communication interfaces for photo-capable devices. The photo-image discovery device is capable of concurrently scanning wireless and hardwired connector interfaces. A determination is made of whether the detected photo-capable devices have stored electronically formatted photo-images, which may be either still or video images. The photo-images are acquired into the photo-image discovery device. Then, the acquired photo-images are automatically uploaded to a network-connected storage site.

Abstract:
A virtual kiosk system and method are provided for stored photo-image reproduction. A photo-image discovery device, having no dedicated display, scans communication interfaces for photo-capable devices, and determines if detected photo-capable devices have stored electronically formatted photo-images. The photo-images are acquired into the photo-image discovery device, and the acquired photo-images are uploaded to a network-connected storage site. Subsequently, the photo discovery device may be interfaced to a display monitor. A menu of photo-image user prompt options is depicted on the display monitor, originating from the photo discovery device. The storage site is accessed from the photo discovery device in response to a first user prompt. In response to a second user prompt, a stored photo-image is selected. In one aspect a delivery option for the selected photo-image is selected in response to an additional user prompt.

Abstract:
Computing systems employing measurement of boot components, such as prior to activation of a trusted platform module (TPM), for enhanced boot security, and related methods and computer-readable media. In exemplary aspects, to extend the measured boot process performed by a trusted platform module (TPM) circuit to earlier, primitive boot components that are processed before the TPM circuit becomes available to perform boot measurements, a secure boot processing system is configured to measure earlier, primitive boot components. The measured primitive boot components are used to update a virtual configuration register (CR) value in a final virtual CR. The TPM circuit uses the final virtual CR value as an initial starting CR value to measure subsequent boot components to provide end-to-end security for boot operations. In this manner, the final virtual CR value protects boot integrity of boot operations of its CPU even if they occur before availability of the TPM circuit.
