The present invention discloses an apparatus for cleaning a window of a structure. The window cleaning apparatus includes a guide track mounted on one side of a window frame and a second guide track mounted on a side of the window frame opposite the first guide track wherein a cleaning assembly is retained and guided between and along a length of the first and second guide tracks. The apparatus further includes a means for selectively moving the cleaning assembly along the length of the guide track and over a surface of a window within the window frame thereby cleaning the surface of the window.
A sanitizing protector for drainage pipes typically found below a sink, tub and other plumbing fixtures. The protector includes a housing with two connecting tubular ends. A tubular member is coaxially disposed within the housing and mounted at one end to one of the connecting ends. An annular channel is mounted to the internal surface of the cylindrical wall of the housing and the tubular member passes through without being in contact with it. A dispenser pump supplies an anti-bacterial, and optionally including a fragrance, liquid through a conduit that passes through the cylindrical wall to discharge the liquid in the annular channel. As the liquid reaches the rim of the annular channel, it spills over running downwardly along the internal surfaces of the cylindrical wall and pipe, sanitizing them and preventing any growth to proceed upwardly beyond the annular channel. The tubular ends may include an internal thread or they may be pressure-fitted in series with the drain pipes of the plumbing installation being protected.

Abstract:
An energy degrading device for attenuating energy of a particle beam with reduced emittance growth. An energy degrader comprises an emittance control material that can preferentially scatter the beam particles that is incident on a surface with a shallow angle. In one approach, the energy degrader may include alternating layers of a low-Z and a high-Z material, wherein the low Z material serves to attenuate energy of the beam particles by virtue of scattering and the high Z material serves to suppress the emittance increase by scattering back the beam particles toward the beam axis. In another approach, the energy degrader may be composed of carbon nanotubes or a material with oriented crystalline structure that is substantially orientated in the incident direction of the particle beam. The carbon nanotubes may serve to preferentially scatter beam particles towards the central beam axis as well as attenuate energy thereof.
Therapeutic System And Method For Flexing And Extending Metacarpal And Phalangeal Joints
A therapeutic system and method flexes, extends, and exercises the metacarpal and phalangeal joints of an affected hand. The system comprises a therapeutic glove that receives an affected hand and adjustably applies movement to the fingers and thumb in a first forward direction to form a flexion position, and a second rearward direction to form an extension position. The position of the fingers and thumb as well as the amount of pressure applied is controlled by manipulating restraining members to pull and restrain the fingers and thumb and then attaching to a corresponding body and wrist portion on the glove. The extent of the pulling, including the pressure applied to the metacarpal and phalangeal joints, is fixed, adjustable, and easily releasable. A secondary therapeutic glove compensates for the tactile perception feedback from an unaffected hand. A therapeutic pain relief modality is applied prior to donning the glove.

Abstract:
Systems and apparatuses for providing particle beams for radiation therapy with a compact design and suitable to a single treatment room. The radiation system comprises a stationary cyclotron coupled to a rotating gantry assembly through a beam line assembly. The system is equipped with a single set of dipole magnets that are installed on the rotating gantry assembly and undertakes the dual functions of beam energy selection and beam deflection. The energy degrader may be exposed to the air pressure. The beam line assembly comprises a rotating segment and a stationary segment that are separated from each other through an intermediate segment that is exposed to an ambient pressure.
