I will not cheat, lie, or bend the rules.” Lynda Taylor was born in Richmond, California, and moved to Antioch at age two. She graduated from Antioch High School and married her childhood sweetheart. She completed a two-year program at Contra Costa College, and then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Cal State, Hayward. Always a lover of knowledge and looking for ways to better herself, she went on to get a Master’s in Counseling from Cal State, Hayward and a Master’s in Nursing from UCSF, which was then renowned for its nursing graduate program. She majored in mental health, teaching, and public health. In the years to come, Lynda succeeded in a variety of nursing positions, including one as a highly successful administrative director for Kaiser’s mental health clinics. She worked for a company that owned Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, and was given the project of building an internal wing for pediatric patients. Lynda’s team built a neonatal nursery and a unit for pediatrics. She found the work and the people rewarding and fun. Another successful project she recalls was for a mental health clinic in Pleasanton, which Lynda and her team built, completed and made operational. Clearly, wherever Lynda goes she inspires people around her to accomplish good things for the betterment of others.
