As an “enter-trainer,” Marcy combines decades of successful major gift development experience with more than 20 years of stage performance into entertaining, passionate and high-content key-note speeches and workshops. Topics include development (fundraising), personal productivity, leadership, maximizing board and volunteer service, and managing your personal mindset to enhance success. Her audiences include higher education institutions throughout the US and Canada, conferences of all types and a vast array of non-profit and for-profit organizations. Marcy was presented the CASE Crystal Apple Award (2005) for earning the highest faculty rating at ten national conferences and is a recipient of the AFP Madison Chapter Outstanding Fundraising Professional award. She’s been featured at AFP International Conferences and is one of only 125 graduates world-wide of the AFP Faculty Teaching Academy. She’s a graduate of Leadership Greater Madison and holds a UW-Madison Natural Sciences degree. She serves as a pro-bono consultant to United Way. Marcy’s teaching reflects over twenty years of firsthand fundraising experience at the UW Foundation where she and her team raised millions of dollars by creating the genuine relationships she promotes in her presentations. She led her unit through two successful comprehensive campaigns including the $1.8 billion dollar Create the Future Campaign. She takes on only a very limited number of longer-term clients that include hospital foundations, educational institutions/foundations and arts organizations. Marcy’s Donor Attraction System™ guides both staff and volunteers though the key steps of creating and managing long-term transformational major-gift donor relationships. Marcy’s first book, “Empowering Your Board As Effective Development Ambassadors” is due out this June and several of her sessions, and her clever fundraising songs are available on CD.
