Maria obtained a F.A.C.T. (Forensic Addiction Correction Treatment) credential in the state of California along with education and training from University of California San Diego, she is also RAS (Registered Addictions Specialist) certified. With a strong academic background and professional experience in criminal justice and the treatment of substance abuse and her ability to work with specific and special needs population which includes incarcerated adult men, at-risk youth, and special education students has been an asset in the people, and the community that she serves. Her accomplishments include incorporating and founding a youth organization Our Rivers of Life Inc. to prepare and guide our youth to excel as young leaders in our community, providing the Supportive services for our youth by creating and implementing evidence based programs and therapeutic community specializing in quality youth service. In 2003 she played a key role in helping to activate Tarzana’s Treatment Centers first youth residential drug treatment facility in the Antelope Valley, Lancaster, CA.
