  • Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
  • International Classification:
    B65H 522
    B65H 3112
  • US Classification:
    271 31
  • Abstract:
A servo-controlled recirculating automatic document feeder (RADF) includes a plurality of independently driven document transport devices. A picker mechanism separates documents in seriatim from a stack. An entry turnaround transport device buffers and delivers picked documents to a platen transport device for exposure. After exposure, the document is transported along a simplex or duplex path for duplex or simplex copying. The document is then buffered in an exit turnaround transport device and is subsequently returned to the stack. Each transport device is independently driven by a motor and a closed-loop servo. A common reference oscillator generates source signals for the servo-loops. A microcomputer operates on the source signals and generates reference signals for driving the transport devices.

  • Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
  • International Classification:
    B65H 308
  • US Classification:
    271 31
  • Abstract:
Sheet feeder having adaptive mechanism for assuring dependable automatic operation when the stack of sheets to be fed consists of sheets having varying thicknesses and weights. In a sheet feeder having pickers to move a document from the top of a stack of sheets supported by a moveable table to a feed-in position, the latter possibly including a vacuum belt for moving the document, sensors supply signals to indicate a sheet has been picked. After moving the pickers and table to initial positions, the controller moves the picker to a predetermined reference position. If a sheet is picked above or below the predetermined initial position, the position of the table is adjusted accordingly. In a second embodiment in a recirculating automatic sheet feeder, the table is initially positioned then after feeding the sheets from the stack once, it is initialized at a second predetermined position depending on the number of documents in the stack and on the position of the table prior to picking the documents a second time.

  • Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for entryway access control using serial discretely coded radio frequency transmissions initiated by a single user access request signal. The control apparatus is battery operated and includes a user actuatable input selectively generating a single electrical initiation signal. Circuitry provides first and second conditioned output signals responsive to receipt of the single electrical initiation signal, the output signals enabling first and second transmission channels, respectively, of an RF transmitter or transmitters. A signal delaying circuit delays output of the second conditioned output signal relative to output of the first conditioned output signal.
