Abstract:

A low-profile apparatus for converting water current into electricity. Fabric scoops are spaced along a continuous belt and, when submerged in a current of moving water, are pushed by the current thereby causing the continuous belt to move. The current pushes the fabric scoops downstream and then fold closed as the fabric scoops are rotated out of the water and travel back upstream. The moving continuous belt is used to turn an electric generator, which causes the apparatus to produce electrical energy. The apparatus includes one or more floats to support the continuous belt, electric generator, and other components of the apparatus. The apparatus can be moored or anchored in a variety of locations where there is moving water or currents. The apparatus maintains a low profile by using fabric scoops that collapse and fold flat when not submerged thereby reducing wind resistance and visible surface area above the waterline.

Abstract:

A solar powered water heater including a housing within which are a water storage tank, reflective coated insulation and a solar panel. Pressurized water such as from a municipal water system is fed into the tank interior via a tank supply conduit. A reverse flow of pre-heated water from the tank to the solar panel occurs during passive heat siphoning. A solar panel supply conduit in communication with the first mentioned conduit has a lower flow capacity to assure water from the source being directed into the water tank for pre-heating prior to heat siphoning flow through the solar panel. A modified housing includes an adjustable window with a reflective layer for increased solar reflection toward the water tank.

Abstract:

An air filtration and purification system for the interior of a closed vehicle, including an outside air intake and an inside air intake, both the intakes empty into a common plenum located interior of the vehicle, an air passageway defined by an inlet, in fluid communication with the plenum, and an outlet spaced-apart therefrom for removing the air in the plenum, a plurality of purifying air filters arranged in series in the passageway, a first air movement device interposed the plenum and said passageway inlet to create a flow of air from the plenum to the filters, a second air movement device in the outlet of the passageway to draw said flow of air across the filters, and a vent device in fluid communication with the second air movement device for distributing the filtered air from the second air movement device into the vehicle.

Abstract:

A container preferably made of a copper tube can be placed on a barbeque grill. Adjustable sized holes on top allow the chef to adjust how much vapor escapes from the container during a cooking cycle. For washing the copper tube can be broken down in half for insertion into a dishwasher. The cylindrical hollow tube can have a smooth circular cross section or equivalents including octagon, hexagon and rectangular. Equivalents to the cylindrical tube being pulled apart for cleaning include a hinge relationship between two tube segments.
