Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing audio conflicts and priorities is disclosed. A mobile device () initiates a navigation application () and an audio application (), each configured to utilize audio input and/or output components. The mobile device identifies () a priority of a communication associated with the audio application and manages () the audio input and output components based on the priority and other factors. In particular, the mobile device or components thereof can delay () an indication of the communication until a sufficient break in a route traversal is reached, can mute () the audio input component while the navigation application utilizes the audio output component, and/or can perform other functions related to the audio conflicts and priorities of the applications.

Abstract:
When a first user is leaving a voicemail while a second user is attempting to call the first user back, the first user is given the option to ignore the second caller, delete the voicemail and connect with the second user, or hold while the second user reviews the voicemail. The voicemail may or may not be complete. This may avoid the need for the first user to repeat the information contained in the voicemail. In one embodiment, the voicemail message is played on the second user's device as a ring-back tone.

Abstract:
A system includes a controller that has a processor. The processor is configured to receive a first signal from a first sensor indicative of a first exhaust measurement, wherein the first sensor is disposed at a catalytic converter system inlet of a catalytic converter system. The processor is further configured to derive one or more of an estimated length, estimated volume, or estimated transport delay of an exhaust conduit based on the first signal, wherein a first end of the exhaust conduit is connected to an engine outlet of a engine, and a second end of the exhaust conduit is connected to the catalytic converter system inlet; and to apply the one or more of estimated length, estimated volume, or estimated transport delay of the exhaust conduit during control of the engine.

Abstract:
A system includes a controller configured to receive noise signals acquired by at least two knock sensors of a plurality of knock sensors coupled to a reciprocating device. Each noise signal represents a noise signature of the reciprocating device detected at a respective knock sensor. The controller is also configured to determine a location of a coincident noise within the reciprocating device based at least on the received noise signals.

Abstract:
In a method of controlling a dual fuel engine in which power in the form of a first gaseous fuel and in the form of a self-igniting second fuel is fed to at least one combustion chamber, a knock signal representative of the combustion chamber is detected. When a knock signal indicating a knock of at least a first intensity is detected, the amount of first fuel fed to the combustion chamber of the engine is increased, the increased introduction of power into the combustion chamber caused by the increase in the amount of first fuel being compensated by a corresponding reduction in the power contribution of the second fuel. When a knock signal indicating a knock of at least a second intensity greater than the first intensity is detected, the amount of first fuel is reduced.
System For Controlling Deposits On Cylinder Liner And Piston Of Reciprocating Engine
- Schenectady NY, US Mark James Lemke - Sun Prairie WI, US
International Classification:
F02F 1/00 F02F 3/00
Abstract:
A system includes a reciprocating engine having a cylinder liner and a piston disposed within the cylinder liner. The cylinder liner includes an inner wall and extends around a cavity. The inner wall includes a first axial end, a second axial end, a piston travel portion, and a top portion. The top portion is nearer to the first axial end of the cylinder liner than to the second axial end of the cylinder liner. The top portion has a first surface finish with a first roughness average (Ra) greater than approximately 2 μm and a total waviness (Wt) less than approximately 0.1 mm. The piston is configured to move in a reciprocating manner within the cylinder liner. The piston includes a top land configured to be radially opposite the top portion of the inner wall of the cylinder liner when the piston is at a top dead center position.

Smoltz led off with a single and moved to second on a single by Marquis Grissom. Up next was Mark Lemke, a man who knew how to handle a bat. Not a big average or RBI guy, but Lemke was adept at moving runners along. There was no reason to believe he wouldnt sacrifice bothrunners in this instance, setting the stage for stud Chipper Jones with one out.
