Abstract:

A stator for a fractional horsepower motor has a mounting hole of reduced dimensions for fixing the position of motor mounting brackets which support a rotor. The configuration of the mounting holes increase the area where magnetic flux may pass. One configuration reduces the depth of the mounting hole to one or two laminates of each side of the stator. Another configuration is an elongated hole which lies in the direction of the magnetic flux. Each laminate may have a tang which interlocks with tangs on other laminates when the laminated stack is squeezed together in a punch press.

Abstract:

A plastic coil bobbin has a recess with the precise dimensions of a thermal fuse. On one side, the recess is open so that, as the coil is wound on the bobbin, successive layers of coil wire form a wall-like surface closing that open side. As the fuse is press fit into the recess, it is also forced into intimate contact against the wall of wire. Thus, the only material between the fuse and wire is a thin plastic shell forming the fuse housing. Since the fuse rating takes this wall thickness into account, there is effectively no thermal insulation between the coils and the fuse. Accordingly, under overheating conditions, the fuse opens a circuit when there is overheating and before a fire can start.

Abstract:

A pressurized plenum or air chamber is separated by internal walls to form slots, holes or the like. The separated chambers may be either in gas pressure communication or entirely separated from each other. Game piece manipulation devices operate a controller via these slots or holes. The upper surface of the plenum is perforated to enable the pressurized air to escape and form a boundary layer of air at the playing surface. The air pressure may be controlled, at the perforations, in order to form different zones of surface friction.

A dynamic acoustic system for use in connection with an indoor environment includes a plurality of elongated acoustic bars and a controller operably to each of the elongated acoustic bars. Abstract:

A decorative interior trim piece is provided for use in a low voltage power transmission system, and includes an outer, decorative surface, an opposite inner surface facing a substrate, a first end surface and an opposite second end surface. At least one conductive element extends from the first end surface to said second end surface on the inner surface. Each conductive element has a connector surface at each of the first end and second ends. At least one magnetic fastener is secured to the inner surface for releasably attaching the trim piece to the substrate. A complementary low voltage power transmission system is also disclosed.
