Federal Executive Board Scholarship Recipient Federal Executive Board The Federal Executive Board Scholarship is awarded to one student in the UIC CUPPA program per year that exhibits excellence in service to a Federal Agency or intends to pursue a career in government service at the national level and who exhibits superior scholastic achievement. Defense Meritorious Service Secretary of Defense The Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM) is the third-highest award bestowed upon members of the United States military by the United States Department of Defense. It is below the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Defense Superior Service Medal. Award of the DMSM is typically limited to officers in pay grade O-4 and above, chief warrant officers in pay grade W-3 and above, and enlisted personnel in pay grade E-6 and above. Army Commendation Medal COL John Garrity The Army Commendation Medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States other than General Officers who, while serving in any capacity with the U.S. Army after 6 December 1941, distinguished themselves by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service. Expert Infantry Badge 1st BN, 325th Infantry Regiment To be awarded the EIB, the soldier must complete a number of prerequisites and pass a battery of graded tests on basic infantry skills; usually the testing phase is the culmination of weeks of training. The EIB test is administered on average once per year with pass rates usually near 10 percent, depending on the unit conducting testing. Parachutist Badge Commandant's List-Drill Sergeant School The prestigious honor of being named to the commandant's list indicates the recipient scored in the top 10% of all students in the course.
