Abstract:

Digital cinema exhibition facilities make use of a show play list (SPL) specifying a time sequence of the events to occur during the presentation of digital cinema content. One or more cues in the show play list trigger certain activities, such as displacing the screen curtain and dimming the house lights. To achieve an aesthetic, showman-like presentation, the cues in the show play undergo re-cueing. For each cue, a determination is made automatically of the prefire interval, that is, the interval by which the cue should be advanced. The execution the cue to trigger a corresponding activity is advanced by the automatically determined prefire interval.

Abstract:

A stingball delivery system, having a housing, a plurality of submunitions, and a plurality of stingballs contained within the housing. The housing has a cylindrical tube and a plurality of curved segments fitted to the cylindrical tube. The cylindrical tube has a fixed end cap and a removable end cap. The submunitions are stacked within the channel defined by cylindrical tube. When the removable end cap is ejected by a pyrotechnic fuze, a plurality of pyrotechnic charges eject the submunitions from the housing individually and sequentially. The ejection of each submunition exerts a force to raise the housing several feet into the air. Each of the submunitions includes a plurality of radially distributed barrels for packaging the stingballs therein. After the submunitions are ejected from the housing, the stingballs are pyrotechnically expelled from the submunitions along predetermined trajectories.

Abstract:

The present disclosure is directed towards having a user interface that displays a number of cards or windows. A user can implement a command where the user interface will automatically change the position of the displayed cards to show regions of interest which are the parts of the cards that a user may have interested in. The user interest can be determined in accordance with user preference information. Optionally, cards which do not have regions of interest are removed from a display area and such cards are replaced with new cards that do have regions of interest.

In a telepresence system, a local station receives images of participants at remote stations processed to isolate the remote participant in the image from image background. The local station merges the images of the participants at the remote stations to generate an output image in which a first remote participant appears to partially overlay another participant. Management of received images of remote participants displayed to a local participant in a telepresence system commences by first establishing the orientations of the remote telepresence system participants relative to their respective image capture devices (telepresence cameras). The received images of the remote participant(s) undergo processing for display to the local participant in accordance with the established orientations to control at least one of image visibility and image location within the displayed image observed by the local participant.
