Abstract:
The invention provides protective articles comprising a backing that comprises a fluorinated polymer and a curable adhesive on at least one layer of the backing. The protective articles of the invention may be used to provide substrates or articles of the invention having a fluorinated surface. The invention also provides methods of preparing such articles, methods of repairing appliqués, and methods of edge sealing appliqués.
A barrier film is disclosed that includes a polymeric film substrate and at least first and second polymer layers separated by an inorganic barrier layer. The first polymer layer is disposed on the polymeric film substrate. At least one of the first or second polymer layers is prepared from co-deposited amino silane and acrylate or methacrylate monomer. A method of making the barrier film is also disclosed.

Abstract:
The disclosure describes a system and method for commercial vehicle operation using reconfigurable brand image technology to support dynamic rebranding. A vehicle may initially carry a first brand image, such as a company name, logo, or the like, associated with a first operator. The brand image is then reconfigured so that the vehicle carries a second brand image, associated with a second operator. Rebranding supports shared use of a vehicle by multiple operators, while permitting individual operators to preserve their brands. A networked system enables rebranding clients to access databases storing scheduling, branding, and accounting information. Rebranding clients access a scheduling database to determine when a particular vehicle is scheduled for operation, and whether an operator or service change will take place. The branding database permits the rebranding client to access archived brand image content. An accounting database tracks costs associated with brand image reconfiguration.

Abstract:
An assembly that includes a barrier film interposed between a first polymeric film substrate and a first major surface of a pressure sensitive adhesive layer is provided. The first polymeric film substrate has a first coefficient of thermal expansion that is, in some embodiments, up to 50 parts per million per Kelvin. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a second major surface opposite the first major surface that is disposed on a second polymeric film substrate. The second polymeric film substrate is typically resistant to degradation by ultraviolet light. In some embodiments, the second polymeric film substrate has a second coefficient of thermal expansion that is at least 40 parts per million per Kelvin higher than the first coefficient of thermal expansion. The assembly is transmissive to visible and infrared light.
