This award is given to a non-profit organization or partner who has enhanced the quality of life in the community in meaningful and measurable ways and engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with a college or university. My class at Dartmouth created the Upper Valley Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship for which we received this award. The Mission of the Upper Valley Social Entrepreneurship Program is three-fold: (a) to enrich the educational experience of current Dartmouth students with experiential learning in social entrepreneurship; (b) to improve the lives of deserving people in the Upper Valley; and (c) to engage in a Class Project which strengthens our ties with each other in meaningful ways and deepens our own Dartmouth experience. I have been and Advisory Committee member for the Fellowship since its inception and was given the honor of accepting this award on behalf of my classmates.
