Abstract:

A monolithic structure for use as a pressure bulkhead for an aircraft includes a first web, a redundant second web spaced from the first web, stiffeners disposed between and connecting the webs to each other, and first and second outer attachment rings respectively provided on the outer peripheries of the first and second webs for attaching the bulkhead to fuselage structure. One of the webs comprises a pressure web for supporting pressure loading, and the other web defines at least one aperture therethrough. The stiffeners are integrally fabricated along with at least one of the webs and associated attachment ring as a one-piece monolithic part.

A facility selects a unit of content to include in an instance of a content container. For each of a plurality of units of content, across a plurality of other instances of the content container distributed during a foregoing period of time that included the unit of content, the facility determines both an average level of success achieved by including the unit of content, and a measure of the level of variability of the level of success achieved by including the unit of content. The facility scores each unit of content by selecting a value from a probability distribution that is based on the determined average level of success and measure of the level of variability of the level of success. The facility selects one of the units of content to include in the instance of the content container based on the determined scores.

A collaboration system described herein empowers non-technical users to create and manage custom collaboration portals, called hubs. Hubs are easy to manage, often providing a satisfactory default configuration after the user answers questions through a wizard-like interface. The collaboration system may be provided as an Internet-based service that can be accessed by users regardless of their affiliation with a company or other predetermined group. In addition, the system shields users from the systems that provide storage for hub content, so that users can avoid the difficulties of data management. The system may provide one or more hub widgets that provide specific functionality, such as a calendar widget for managing events, a file widget for sharing files, a comments widget for managing electronic discussions, and so forth. Thus, the collaboration system facilitates online collaboration for users without advanced software experience.

Abstract:

Continuous skin leading edge slats are disclosed. A disclosed example leading edge slat for use with an aircraft includes a single-piece nose skin defining upper and lower external surfaces of the leading edge slat, where the single-piece nose skin is to extend between a fore end and an aft end of the leading edge slat, and a box spar coupled to an inner surface of the single-piece nose skin. The box spar includes lateral walls extending away from the inner surface of the single-piece nose skin. The lateral walls define at least one compartment of the box spar.
