Abstract:

A semi-tubular vane air swirler is provided. In one embodiment the air swirler is a deep drawn sheet metal component having a first and a second set of semi-tubular vanes formed therein. In one embodiment the semi-tubular air vanes include a first and a second portion formed by upsetting the sheet metal in opposing directions to create mirrored vane geometry, thereby doubling the open area of the vane.

Abstract:

A customizable, portable, object-oriented expression parser and evaluator provides the ability to customize syntactic and semantic elements of expression parsing and evaluation via class inheritance and interface implementation. The customizable expression parser/evaluator provides independence from a fixed variable resolution process, provides flexibility in the data types used for representing numbers and other values, and provides notifications that allow inspection and validation during expression parsing and evaluation. The customizable expression parser/evaluator utilizes a class library that supports mathematical expression parsing according to rules that can be customized by developers using object orientated programming. The customizable expression parser/evaluator class library provides a set of classes to parse and evaluate mathematical and logical expressions. The class library supports the evaluation of expressions having varying degrees of complexity.

Abstract:

Methods of combining catalytic plates into an assembly of a non-monolithic structure, such as a catalyst substrate or filter assembly, of an exhaust aftertreatment system. A plurality of plates may be disposed within a housing in an arrangement that may define a catalytically active volume of a substrate. Each of the plurality of plates may be single-curved or multiple-curved and/or may be represented by three-dimensional nestable structures. The arrangement of plates may be configured such that the flow is axial, radial, or represented by a hybrid, multi-segment intake path. The plurality of plates may be arranged such that they are configured to receive targeted amounts of coating agent, which may differ among the plates.

An aftertreatment component's shape, entrance geometry, and/or position within an aftertreatment assembly can be modified for local and/or bulk exhaust flow control. In some implementations, a body of the aftertreatment component has a non-circular cross-section, a non-circular opening, and/or a variable face geometry.
