Abstract:

An electric machine includes a stator having a stator winding disposed thereon. A rotor is electromagnetically exposed to the stator. A field winding and an induction winding are disposed on the rotor. A rectifier is electrically coupled to the induction winding and the field winding. Upon application of a voltage to the stator winding, the stator winding produces a first rotating magnetic field and a second rotating magnetic field that has a different spatial frequency than the first rotating magnetic field. The first rotating magnetic field interacts asynchronously with the induction winding to produce an alternating current in the induction winding. The rectifier changes the alternating current to a direct current that is supplied to the field winding. The field winding interacts synchronously with the second rotating magnetic field.

Abstract:

Methods and systems for managing access to a data location associated with a vehicle. The method includes detecting, by one or more sensors of the vehicle, vehicle data. The method also includes recording, by an electronic control unit (ECU) of the vehicle, the vehicle data to the data location. The method also includes storing, by a smart contract located on a blockchain, an access state associated with the data location, the access state indicating one or more devices having access to the data location. The method also includes communicating, by the ECU, an instruction to the smart contract to change the access state associated with the data location to grant access to a third-party device or revoke access from the third-party device.

Abstract:

An axial flux magnetic geared machine includes a high speed magnetic rotor and a low speed magnetic rotor maintained in a spaced relationship from the high speed magnetic rotor. A modulating structure is disposed between the high speed magnetic rotor and the low speed magnetic rotor. A stator is disposed in a radially central bore of one or more of the high speed magnetic rotor, the low speed magnetic rotor, and the modulating structure.
