Abstract:

A nozzle for mixing and delivering two or more components and method of use thereof. One variation provides a nozzle that injects a first component, such as fuel, into a flow plume for a second component, such as nitrous oxide, for use with combustion engines. The nozzle receives two or more separate flows of components (e. g. , gases and/or liquids), one of which is pressurized so as to be outputtable from the nozzle as a plume. The plume is directed so as to encompass an output extension for the other component near the plume edge, thereby enhancing mixture of the components. In addition, the plume produces a low pressure draw of the second component from the output extension, the low pressure draw varying with plume velocity, in turn varying with delivery pressure of the first component. The plume flow of the second component also atomizes the first component, further enhancing mixing.

Abstract:

A variable timing limiting device for mounting to a camshaft variable timing mechanism includes a flange having a central opening and a travel limiter extending from the flange, wherein the camshaft variable timing mechanism has a hub and a sprocket having a recessed portion, the travel limiter being matably receivable in the recessed portion of the sprocket. In another aspect of the disclosure, a variable timing limiting device for a camshaft variable timing mechanism includes a free floating travel limiter inserted into a chamber portion of the camshaft variable timing mechanism. In another aspect of the disclosure, a camshaft variable timing mechanism for securing to a camshaft includes a hub, a vane lobe extending from the hub, a sprocket portion having a recess configured to receive an end of the vane lobe, the vane lobe being capable of travel within the recess, and a variable timing limiting device.

Abstract:

A nutrition bar or other food which incorporates pro-oxidants and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids or their sources in encapsulated form, especially as microcapsules. The pro-oxidants may be metal salts such as copper, manganese, iron and/or zinc salts. Sources of omega-3 fatty acids include fish oil. Processes for preparing the polyunsaturated fatty acid capsules are also disclosed. The polyunsaturated fatty acid capsules/microcapsules are prepared by forming an emulsion of the unsaturated fatty acid with a carrier, spray drying the emulsion to form a powder and encapsulating powder, especially with a fluid bed. The invention is especially useful for encapsulating polyunsaturated fatty acids, or oil sources thereof, most preferably omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, such as arachidonic acid, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), lineoleic acid, linolenic acid (alpha linolenic acid), and gamma-linolenic acids, fish oil, and oil sources of C18:2 and C18:3 fatty acids such as canola oil, soybean oil or blends thereof.

Abstract:

A low power or current draw adjustable trigger switch and method and system for using the adjustable trigger switch in conjunction with a triggered accessory for an internal combustion engine, such as a feed from a source of compressed oxygen enhancer, such as nitrous oxide. The adjustable trigger switch, in operation in conjunction with the triggered accessory, allows selective activation of the accessory to, for example, improve engine performance. In one application, the triggering occurs via an engine electrical output, such as a throttle position sensor (TPS) voltage. The trigger, which includes, for example, an operational amplifier circuit, logic gates, or a series of transistors (e. g. , a Schmitt trigger), operated in conjunction with a user variable setting, such as a potentiometer, and an indicator for proper setting, such as a light emitting diode (LED), allows variable tailoring of the trigger to the sensed output at a selected output setting without incurring significant power or current draw from the sensed output. Another aspect of the invention is use of a low power or current draw switch, such as a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) that further allows triggered accessory operation at high power or current draw without producing high power or current through the sensing circuit itself.
