Matthew Sheridan was arrested, but not charged, by Montgomery police after police found cocaine in his car, authorities have said. Sheridan, who lived with his parents, was also in possession of drug paraphernalia, a scale, authorities said.Somerset authorities never gave a reason for the delay in charging Matthew Sheridan or said if they had intended to charge him at all. If Sheridan is charged with third-degree drug possession, he would face three to five years in prison if convicted, according to New Jersey law.Authorities have said Matthew Sheridan was out of state at the time of his parents' death. He arrived at his parents' house in the early afternoon, hours after they had been discovered dead, authorities said.
