Abstract:
An infusion unit includes a heating unit with opposed heating plates. A heat exchanger has a fluid flow path receivable between the heating plates to which heat is conducted by contact with the heating plates. Infusate flowing under pressure through the fluid flow path is heated by conduction from the heating plates through the fluid container. When the flow of infusate is stopped or interrupted, infusate trapped in the heat exchanger is displaced to a reservoir in the heat exchanger. Displacement of the trapped infusate reduces friction between the fluid container and the heating plates, which assists in extraction of the heat exchanger from the heating unit.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a sectional warming blanket for patient warming having a structure comprising a first layer of material forming a bottom layer with openings to allow a profusion of air through the bottom layer, a second layer of material forming an upper layer wherein the upper layer is coupled to the bottom layer via a plurality of seals to form a plurality of interconnected air passageways, and an inlet located on the upper or bottom layers. In an embodiment, the sectional warming blanket further comprises an opening configured to receive a coupling device for coupling the sectional warming blanket to an additional sectional warming blanket. In another embodiment, the sectional warming blanket further comprises at least one outline formed from a portion of the structure, such that a section can be removed from the blanket and the blanket is re-sealed by a bonding mechanism along its periphery.

Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclose related to a system. The system includes a warming device having at least a first zone and a second zone and a sensor. The system also includes a controller that includes one or more processor circuits configured to receive a first sensor reading from the sensor corresponding to a first zone, wherein the first sensor reading corresponds to a first heat transfer rate. The one or more processor circuits are configured to determine whether the sensor reading is sufficient and increase a first heat transfer rate to a second heat transfer rate in the first zone in response to the sensor reading being insufficient.

Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a convective blanket that includes an air permeable upper sheet having a periphery. The convective blanket includes a lower sheet bonded to the upper sheet with a peripheral seal proximate to the periphery of the upper sheet to form an interior space therein between the upper and lower sheets. The convective blanket includes a wing portion partially surrounded by a portion of the peripheral seal and a body portion. Additional aspects relate to a system including the convective blanket and a method that uses the convective blanket.
