Abstract:
The invention discloses bars comprising fatty acid soaps, free fatty acid, polyalkylene glycol and specific salts of protic acid (i. e. , having pKa1 less than 6, preferably less than 5. 5). Using specific equivalent molar ratios of free fatty acid to protic acid salt and specific wt. ratio of free fatty acid to PAG and salt of protic acid, applicants obtain bars having sensory feel of soap and which improve skin condition is measured in Controlled Application Wash Test.
Liquid Sunscreen Compositions Which Both Deposit And Lather Well
Leslie Jo Morgan - Chatham NJ Sudhakar Puvvada - Shelton CT Liang Sheng Tsaur - Norwood NJ Michael Paul Aronson - West Nyack NY Andrew Lam - Yorktown Heights NY Shiji Shen - Norwood NJ Ernest Weatherley Macaulay - Morris Township NJ
Assignee:
Unilever Home Personal Care USA a division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
The present invention teaches liquid sunscreen compositions in which level of surfactant is higher than level at which the sunscreen component(s) are still soluble in the surfactant in which they are used; and which comprise minimal levels of cationic polymer. Combination of cationic polymer (especially preferred surfactants and at minimum levels) and minimal levels of sunscreen lead to compositions with minimal levels of deposition and minimal SPF. Further, the compositions also maintain good lather.
Separating Multi-Phase Personal Wash Composition In A Transparent Or Translucent Package
Jason Richard Williams - Berkeley Heights NJ Ernest Weatherley Macaulay - Morris Township NJ Michael Paul Aronson - West Nyack NY Michael Massaro - Congers NY Tom Salmon - Buxtehude, DE
Assignee:
Unilever Home Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
The invention provides a single chamber transparent or translucent package and personal product composition where when standing, the product forms 2 or more visibly distinct phases and, when agitated, the composition forms a visible single phase.

International Classification:
A61K 716
US Classification:
424 49
Abstract:
Polysaccharides (e. g. , dextran) of different molecular weights were substituted at the anomeric carbon with polyalkylene oxides of different molecular weights to give novel diblock copolymers. The copolymers inhibit bacterial aggregation. The copolymers are useful as antiplaque agents, as agents to prevent bacterial aggregation in an aqueous system or in a fermentation system.
