Abstract:

A method for electronically encoding an article with work-in-progress information includes determining a work-in-progress condition of the article and setting an encoding device attached to the article to a set-point corresponding to the work-in-progress condition. Determining the work-in-progress condition includes identifying a present work-in-progress condition of the article and at least one historical work-in-progress condition of the article. Adjusting the encoding device includes adjusting the encoding device from a first set-point of a first set-point set to a first set-point of a second set-point set in response to passing a first work-in-progress evaluation, and adjusting the encoding device from the first set-point of the second set-point set to a second set-point of the first set-point set in response to failing a second work-in-progress evaluation after passing the first work-in-progress evaluation. The present work-in-progress information and historical work-in-progress information of the article are used to effectively estimate the reliability and improve the manufacturability of the article.

Abstract:

A system and method for providing real-time communication of high-quality audio is provided. The system contains a series of audio devices and a series of client devices, where each client device is in communication with an audio device, and each client device is capable of converting analog signals received from an audio device, into digital data. In addition, a series of server devices is provided where each service device is capable of communicating with one of the series of client devices via a network, and each server device is capable of converting digital data received from a client device, into analog signals. A series of server computers is provided, each having a sound card. A connection between a server device and a server computer resulting in analog signals from the server device being directly received by the sound card located within the server computer.

Abstract:

A system includes at least one radiation source configured to generate radiation for a cornea reshaping procedure and a corneal cross-linking procedure. The system also includes a delivery device configured to deliver the radiation to the patient's eye. The system further includes a controller configured to control the delivery of the radiation to the patient's eye during the cornea reshaping procedure and the corneal cross-linking procedure. The controller may be configured to control the delivery of radiation so that the cornea reshaping procedure and the corneal cross-linking procedure at least partially overlap in time. The delivery device may be configured to deliver radiation to specified areas of the patient's eye during the cornea reshaping procedure and to deliver radiation only to the same specified areas of the patient's eye during the corneal cross-linking procedure.

Abstract:

A video display is provided which includes a display screen mounted to a forward end of the video display, a video projector having a center of gravity, and a reflective assembly for directing light from within the video projector to the display screen. The video display further includes a frame for supporting the display screen, the video projector and a reflective assembly in an operative relationship. Stationary brackets are rigidly mounted to the frame, and projector brackets are rigidly mounted to the video projector. The projector brackets are pivotally mounted to the stationary brackets for rotating relative to the stationary brackets, about a pivot point. Rotating the projector brackets relative to the stationary brackets rotates the video projector relative to the frame, from a first position to a second position. When the video projector is rotated about the frame from the first position to the second position, the center of gravity of the video projector is moved from forward of the pivot point to rearward of the pivot point and a rearward end of the video projector is moved in a downward direction. The weight of the video projector is supported when it is disposed in the second position so that it will automatically remain in the second position for servicing.

Abstract:

In some embodiments, the instant invention provides for a system for shaping a human cornea of an eye that includes at least the following components: a sapphire applanation window/suction ring (SAWSR) system, where the SAWSR system includes a sapphire applanation window/suction ring (SAWSR), a conical holder, an illuminator, and a temperature control, where the SAWSR system is configured to: (i) be positioned on the eye, (ii) applanate the human cornea of the eye, (iii) generate and position a centration aid, and (iv) maintain temperature control; an optical delivery system, where the optical delivery system includes: (i) a laser, (ii) a fiber delivery holder, and (iii) a laser control subsystem, where the laser control subsystem is configured to display a user interface to: 1) control a power and a temporal waveform of each of the beamlets of light, and 2) irradiate the human cornea of the eye.
