Abstract:

Provided are a method, system, and an article of manufacture for registration calibration of a printer. An application prints reticle patterns on a printed page. An imaging device creates a digital image of the printed reticle patterns. If color registration on the printer is improper, the digital image exhibits interference patterns. The application compares the interference patterns to the reticle patterns, and based on the results of the comparison adjusts the color registration of the printer.

Abstract:

A device and methods for performing biological or chemical analysis is provided. The device includes an array of three-dimensional microcolumns projecting away from a support plate. Each microcolumn has a relatively planar, first surface remote from the support plate. An array of multiple, different biological materials may be attached to the first surface. Abstract:

An apparatus and process for making glass soot sheet and sintered glass sheet. Glass soot particles are deposited on a curved deposition surface of a rotating drum to form a soot sheet. The soot sheet is then released from the deposition surface. The soot sheet can be sintered into a consolidated glass. The soot sheet and the sintered glass can be sufficiently long and flexible to be reeled into a roll.

Abstract:

A pin plate used to print a high density array printing of materials such as biological inks and a method for manufacturing the pin plate are described herein. The pin plate can be manufactured by coating a top surface of a silica wafer with a substantially thick layer of photoresist material. Next, a photolithography process is used to remove selected areas of the photoresist material from the silica wafer. Thereafter, a reactive ion etching process is used to form the pins in the silica wafer by etching away a predetermined amount of the top surface from the silica wafer that is not covered by the photoresist material. Afterwards, the remaining photoresist material is removed from the silica wafer which now resembles the pin plate.

Abstract:

Described herein are methods for protecting glass. The methods include applying to at least one surface of the glass a coating composition, wherein the coating composition comprises a base soluble polymer, a volatile base, a surfactant and water. Polymer beads may be included in the coating to prevent blocking of adjacent glass articles, typically glass sheets. Advantageously, the beads may also prevent abrasion of the glass sheets.
