Abstract:
An environmental shield for reducing or eliminating leakage of materials from transit vehicles, including truck-mounted concrete mixers, is provided. The environmental shield preferably engages at least a portion of an opening on a mixer drum such that the leakage that generally occurs in such situations as travel along hilly or bumpy terrain, surging, etc. may be prevented or minimized. The environmental shield preferably includes a discharge cover and a combination steel/rubber abrasion resistant sealing member and may be preferably coupled to a charging hopper of the transit vehicle.

Abstract:
A well safety system for controlling the flow of fluid through well conduits. The system includes a surface controlled subsurface safety valve made up as part of a tubing string extending from the well surface to a subsurface formation within a casing string. A packer, installed below the safety valve, forms a fluid tight seal between the tubing and casing to direct fluid from below the packer into the tubing. The safety valve contains lateral passageways which allow communication of fluid from the bore of the safety valve to the annulus between the tubing and casing above the packer. A valve actuator is releasably secured within the upper portion of the safety valve and forms a fluid tight seal between control fluid pressure in the tubing string above the safety valve and formation fluid pressure in the tubing string below the safety valve. The safety valve can be locked open when control pressure is increased above a preselected value and then released. The safety valve can be unlocked by returning control pressure to another preselected value.

Abstract:
A well tool for inclusion in a tubing string of a well adapted to perform multiple functions including controlling fluid flow through the tubing string and/or cutting coiled tubing or wire line used in the tubing string for performing well completion and workover functions. The tool includes a tubular body connectible in a tubing string and having a flow passage therethrough, a spherical seat surface around the flow passage developed on an eccentrically positioned center relative to the axis of the flow passage, an operator member which may function as a cutter, a valve, or a combination cutter and valve having a spherical surface engageable with the seat surface and mounted on an axis of rotation eccentrically positioned relative to the axis of the flow passage and coincident with the center of the spherical seat surface, an actuator movable longitudinally in the housing and engageable with a surface of the operator member spaced from the axis of rotation of the operator member to rotate the operator member from a first opened position to a second closed position, and return apparatus for rotating the operator member back from the second closed to the first opened position. An annular hydraulically operable piston is provided in the housing to move the actuator. The operator member is a spherical segment formed on a radius which is larger than the radius of the bore through the housing so that by pivoting the operator member eccentrically within the housing maximum torque is generated in the operator member by application of force at a substantial distance from the axis of rotation of the member by the actuator.

Abstract:
A wire line removable well safety valve in an oil and gas well completion design including a tubing string, a well packer around the tubing string sealing with the well casing, and a submergible well pump on the tubing string below the packer. The safety valve controls flow of pumped well fluids through the tubing string, directs separated gas into the casing annulus around the tubing string above the packer, and shuts off the flow of pumped fluids and separated gas to the surface while permitting recirculation of pumped well fluids between the annulus and tubing string below the packer. The safety valve includes a housing having separate central and annular flow passages for pumped fluids and separated gas, respectively, a ball valve for controlling flow of pumped fluids in the central flow passage, an annular bypass valve for controlling flow of separated gas along the annular flow passage, and a recirculating valve between the central and annular flow passages for recirculation of pumped fluids when the ball and bypass valves are closed. The safety valve is held open hydraulically from the surface and includes means for closing the valve when hydraulic pressure fails, shutting off the flow of pumped fluids and bypass gas while permitting continuous operation of the well pump by recirculating pumped fluids below the packer.

Jacksonville's Air National Guard one of five finalists for F-35 squadron
that our Florida Air National Guard has the finest facilities, airspace and most importantly airmen in the world, said Maj. Gen. Michael Calhoun, the adjutant general of Florida. We are honored that the Air Force recognizes that Jacksonville would be an excellent home for the F-35.
Of the 338 appointments Scott made prior to or during the 2015 session, the Senate approved 190, including Florida National Guard Adjutant General Michael Calhoun and Public Service Commission members Julie Brown and Jimmy Patronis. The majority of those receiving Senate confirmation fill positions

Changes in mortgage finance rules could hurt housing recovery
Meanwhile, builders, consumer groups, banks, real estate agents and others are readying campaigns to persuade the regulators and the Obama administration to back off some of the provisions. Michael Calhoun, president of the Center for Responsible Lending, argues that if adopted in its current form, the proposal would make it much tougher for modest-income and minority consumers to afford a first home.
