Abstract:

Electronic advertisements and other types of electronic information are distributed based on user profiles and in particular, collections of widgets. User profiles may be generated based on a combination of user searches for specific items or points of interest. Alternatively user interests may be determined by the customized tabs setup by said user for his own personal web portal. User entered information and information inferred or derived from user behavior and interaction patterns may be used to determine the type of directed advertisement to be targeted to a specific user. The use and collection of various widgets may also be recorded by a user profile to determine a user's preferences and interests. An advertisement may be distributed by segmenting a user population according to user profile information and one or more attributes of the advertisement. Users may further interact with the widgets in a variety of ways including specifying product request details such as make, model, price and color, requesting additional information about the advertised product or service and/or requesting communications with an advertiser without compromising their privacy. Thus, unnecessary surfing of the internet may be eliminated for updated information and internet commerce.

Abstract:

A system and method for managing gas bubbles in a liquid flow system are described. In particular, according to the system and method, novel techniques reduce a volume of cavities in the liquid flow system and limit a cross-sectional area of the liquid flow system to a maximum cross-sectional area of tolerably sized bubbles. In this manner, by reducing the cavity volumes and limiting cross-sectional areas, the formation of intolerably sized bubbles and the aggregation of tolerably sized bubbles into intolerably sized bubbles are each substantially prevented. Also, bubbles may be removed from the system to reduce the quantity of bubbles that are to be managed.

Abstract:

The present application is directed a computer-implemented technique for enhancing security and preventing cyber-attacks on a network. The technique includes receiving information from user equipment, selecting a first VPN server from a VPN service provider based upon a traffic-type of the user equipment, creating a policy to prevent cyber-attacks such that traffic associated with the received information of the user equipment is routed to the first VPN server, provisioning the first VPN server to last a predetermined amount of time based on the policy, coordinating the policy with a router on the network, with the traffic being sent to the VPN server via the router, and sending, after a predetermined condition is met, a request to the VPN service provider to transmit a second VPN server, and where the first VPN server terminates.

The present application is directed to a method for enhancing security. The method includes a step of sending a request to a cloud provider to create a server on a cloud. The method also includes a step of receiving a notification from the cloud provider that the requested server is available on the cloud. The method also includes a step of embedding the server with a VPN service. The method further includes a step of sending a credential of the server to an entity on the network. Yet further, the method includes a step of reviewing a list of servers created by the cloud provider. Yet even further, the method includes a step of evaluating progress of server generation by the cloud provider and one or more additional cloud providers.
