Abstract:

This invention relates to a system and method for identifying target individuals who possess certain characteristics statistically indicative of their ability to influence others in their decision making regarding consumer goods, consumer products, political issues or candidates, financial matters, investments, real estate, insurance, travel and leisure, by non-limiting example. The subject invention encompasses not only the identification of a key group of individuals in a population more likely to affect the decision making of others in the population (“Influentials” as discussed below), but also includes the identification of additional (“non-Influential”) informational data common to Influential individuals, as well as the application of this additional informational data to other populations. The advantage of employing this additional informational data to ascertain Influentials is that this data can be publicly available data (such as, for example, from the U. S. Census Bureau), thus facilitating the identification of Influentials without the necessity of undertaking any surveys to identify Influentials per se instead relying on pre-existing public demographic information.

Abstract:

For handover between wireless telecommunications networks of different technology types, an air interface is set up between a first node included in a network of a first technology type and a second node included in a network of a second different technology type. Signaling messaging, in accordance with the second technology type, is related to handover of a mobile terminal from the network of the first technology type to the network of the second technology type. The signaling messaging is encapsulated in a container for transmission over the signaling interface. An identifier is associated with the container to indicate that it encapsulates the signaling messaging. When the identifier is detected at the first node, the container is sent over the interface to the second node. In one method in accordance with the invention, the first technology type is WiMAX and the identifier is a special service flow identifier. This may be detected at an Access Services Network Gateway (ASN GW), for example. A method in accordance with the invention thus permits the use of logical radio channels for encapsulating inter-technology signaling.

Abstract:

The concentration of sulfur trioxides in an FCC unit regenerator is maintained within environmentally accepted limits, while maintaining an adequate amount of gas for fluidizing conditions in the regenerator, by admixing the regenerator oxygen-containing gas with an inert gas. The quantity of the inert gas is controlled by a control loop measuring the pressure drop in the regenerator, and adjusting the amount of the inert gas to maintain the pressure drop within the predetermined limits.

Abstract:

A goalie hockey stick includes a blade and a shaft joined at a heel, the shaft including a widened shaft portion and a narrow handle portion. An ergonomic handgrip is formed between the widened shaft portion and the handle portion. The handle portion is offset from the widened shaft portion to enable the lower surface of the handle portion to be close to but spaced from the playing surface when the hockey stick is held in a horizontal position against the playing surface such that a puck is prevented from sliding thereunder, but the gloved fingers of the goalie can grip anywhere on the shaft or the handle. An endcap is formed at the end of the shaft to offset the weight of the blade and has a stop portion to maintain a predetermined distance between the lower surface of the handle portion and the playing surface when the hockey stick is held in a horizontal position against the playing surface. The hockey stick is graphically treated to conceal the visible position of the blade during play.
