Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an apparatus to regulate and control the temperature of a differential axle assembly. A heat pipe is inserted though the axle housing with a portion submersed in a reservoir portion of the axle lubricant. Cooling fins are preferably disposed on the heat pipe both in the submersed region of the heat pipe and a portion external the housing. A temperatures sensitive valve provided to inhibit flow of the axle lubricant between a reservoir and the remaining portion of the axle housing.

Abstract:
A flange and shaft for a two-piece forged axle and method for forging same. The flange includes a hub formed concentric about a longitudinal axis wherein the hub defines an inner annular face, an outer annular face, and a bore extending therebetween. The bore includes a first tapered surface diverging from the longitudinal axis. The flange further includes an annular ring coaxial and integral with the hub as well as a locking arrangement integral with the tapered surface for mechanically coupling the flange for rotation with a shaft. Additional embodiments of the present invention include a two-piece axle having a flange generally configured as described above and a cylindrical shaft disposed in the bore of the flange. The shaft includes a first end portion having a first radial upset engaging a first locking arrangement on the flange to couple the flange for rotation with the shaft. Finally, a method for coupling a flange for rotation with a shaft is disclosed to include the steps of placing a shaft formed of a first material within a bore defined by a flange formed of a second material and upsetting the shaft such that the first material is radially displaced to engage a locking arrangement formed in the flange.
Apparatus And Method For Forging A Pinion Gear With A Near Net Shape
A die apparatus and method for forging a workpiece into a near net shaped gear, and includes a first die having a tooth die with a near net shaped negative cavity configured therein to forge the near net shaped gear. Also, the apparatus includes an axial restriction member that sufficiently reduces axial movement of the forged gear as tooth die moves away from the first die relative to the second die. This axial resistance member enables the head portion of the gear to be removed from the first die, and more specifically, the tooth die, after the forging portion of stroke is completed.
Systems and methods of the invention relate to methods and systems that collect data regarding a keg or container via a sensor, wherein such data collected is used to glean information regarding the container, the contents of the container, a location of the container, or an environment in which the container resides. The sensor can be affixed to a container which communicates wirelessly with a gateway device and the gateway device communicates such collected data to a track component. The track component can be configured to receive data from the sensor(s) and gateway device(s) and identify conditions to improve the quality of the contents of the container, track a location of the container, and among others.
A landscape product includes a compressed mulch tile having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a height between the top and bottom surfaces. The compressed mulch tile is made from loose mulch that has been dried, compressed and adhered together. A sheet of landscape fabric is adhered to the bottom surface of the compressed mulch tile.
