Systems and methods for displaying distant images at mobile computing devices are disclosed herein. According to an aspect, a method includes determining a geographic location of a mobile computing device. The method includes determining an orientation of the mobile computing device. Further, the method includes using a user interface of the mobile computing device to receive input of a viewing distance between the geographic location of the mobile computing device and another geographic location. The method also includes communicating to a remote computing device, the geographic location of the mobile computing device, the orientation of the mobile computing device, and the viewing distance. The method also includes receiving from the remote computing device, one or more images associated with the geographic location, the orientation, and the viewing distance. Further, the method includes using a display of the mobile computing device to display the images.
