Abstract:

An arrangement is provided for ingress throttling via adaptive interrupt delay scheduling. When packets are received, a receive interrupt is issued with a delay determined based on the backlog information of an associated host, gathered from the number of packets returned from the host after the completion of processing previously delivered packets.

Abstract:

Systems and methods are described for providing integrated, interactive communications services among multiple client devices in a local network. In one embodiment, a supersystem provides interactive communications services within a local network through a tablet, a handset, and a base station. The tablet includes a first client and a first user interface configured to provide interactivity with first communications services. The handset includes a second client and a second user interface configured to provide interactivity with second communications services. The first and second clients are in communication with the local network and with each other (e.g., either directly, or through the base station or other path). The base station includes interface subsystems configured to removably couple with the tablet and/or handset. The supersystem may allow multiple client devices to be used in an integrative fashion to provide home management, messaging, videoconferencing, cloud network interaction, media sharing, and/or other functionality.

Novel stands for tablet computers and other electronic devices. A stand for a tablet may comprise a body having one or more attachment mechanisms at one location and a crossbar at a second location. The crossbar may comprise a portion of a first material disposed to magnetically interact with a portion of a second material that is provided by the tablet. The magnetic interaction may cause the crossbar to serve as one or more detents that movably affixes the stand in a desired position relative to the tablet.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for providing access to a banked peripheral memory via a contiguous linear address space. The present invention provides a linear address space having a present region that is mapped to a host memory region of a computer system. The present invention further provides a relocatable selector that provides access to a portion of the linear address space. Accessing programs exchange data with the banked peripheral memory via the relocatable linear address space. When an accessing program references an address of the relocatable address base that is not mapped to the present region, the relocatable linear address space is positioned so that the referenced address maps to the present region. Additionally, a bank of the peripheral memory that corresponds to the referenced address is also mapped into the host memory region so as to enable the accessing program to exchange data with the banked peripheral memory via the relocatable linear address space.

Each pixel of each single bit per pixel raster plane corresponds to a pixel of the multiple bit per pixel raster data, and indicates whether the corresponding pixel in the multiple bit per pixel raster data contains the color value of the single bit per pixel raster plane. The facility then transmits the associated single bit per pixel raster planes to the display device.

Abstract:

An improved font format for displaying text-based characters on pixel-oriented display devices. The improved font format includes a simplified header that includes font information and a plurality of flags indicating one of a plurality of predetermined formats for the plurality of glyph bitmaps. The header also includes a flag indicating whether the font was derived from a bitmapped font and a flag indicating whether the font is stored as a small format (i. e. , less than 64k) or a large format (i. e. , greater than 64k). A movable glyph offset table and a movable advance width table are also provided. To facilitate antialiased textout, additional background mode values are provided to allow for a blending of the glyphs into the background.

Abstract:

Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods relating to adaptive virtual services. In an example, a user specifies a device configuration for a platform device. As a result, a service provider installs selected virtual-network functions and defines network connections as specified by the device configuration. Management software may also be installed, thereby enabling the service provider to communicate with and remotely manage the platform device. The installed virtual-network functions are activated on the platform device once it is delivered to the user. In some instances, the user changes the device configuration. For example, the user may install new virtual-network functions, reconfigure or remove existing virtual-network functions, or change defined network connections. As a result, the service provider reconfigures the platform device accordingly. Thus, the user need not purchase new specialized hardware in order to change the available functions of the computer network.
