Abstract:

A disclosed method includes mapping at least one local application module to respective message type data, and storing the message type data in association with the local application module in a local database accessible to a local server. The method includes mapping gateway account data for internetwork access to at least one remote database, to respective message type data. The first method further includes storing the message type data in association with respective gateway account data in the local database, mapping remote attribute data to local attribute data, and storing the remote attribute data in association with the local attribute data in the local database. Similar steps can be used to prepare the remote server and database for operation. Using the local client device a user can generate message type data transmitted from the local client device to the local server that determines whether the received message type data is associated with a local application module. If so, the local server runs the local application module using optional attribute data.

Abstract:

A disclosed method includes mapping data identifying at least one first application module to respective message type data, and storing the message type data in association with the data identifying the first application module in a first database accessible to a first server. The method includes mapping universal resource locator for internetwork access to at least one second server, to respective message type data. The first method further includes storing the message type data in association with a respective universal resource locator in the first database, mapping second attribute data to first attribute data, and storing the second attribute data in association with the first attribute data in the first database. Similar steps can be used to prepare the second server and database for operation. Using the first client device a user can generate message type data transmitted from the first client device to the first server that determines whether the received message type data is associated with a first application module. If so, the first server runs the first application module using optional attribute data. The first server also determines whether the received message type data is associated with universal resource locator. If so, the universal resource locator is used to transmit the message type data from the first server over the internetwork to the second server. The second server determines whether the message type data is mapped to a second application module in the second database. If so, the second server runs a second application module corresponding to the message type data.

Cable Label with a connector portion and a tag portion The tag portion is fixedly attached to the connector portion by a flexible tab. The connector portion can be of two types, one shaped to frictionally receive the end of a standard female phone jack and the second shaped to receive the end of a standard male jack. The tag portion is comprised of a flat elongate plate that includes a flat surface to receive writing or attachment of a paper label that can be written on. A preferred embodiment includes a plurality of non printed or pre-printed paper labels that can be attached to the flat surface of the tag portion. A preferred embodiment includes the paper labels having pre-printed numbers or letters or the like.

Abstract:

An article of manufacture for causing a ball point pen cartridge and associated tip to automatically extend from its housing when an actuator switch located at the front end of the pen housing is pressed by the user's finger. The pen tip and associated cartridge automatically retract when the user releases the pen. A D. C. motor coupled to a gear reduction assembly inside the pen housing causes an attached threaded sleeve to rotate within a stationary nut within the housing thereby driving the pen assembly forward or backward depending on the polarity of the electrical supply to the motor. Limit switches within the housing cause the pen assembly to stop at the proper locations. An alternate embodiment of the design substitutes a non-moving, conductive switch that operates on skin contact instead of a moving, mechanical type actuation within a standard electrical switch.

Abstract:

A combined toe and finger nail clipper having a common metal strip with a toe nail cutting edge at one end and a finger nail cutting edge at the opposite end. Mating nail cutting edges are at the ends of two additional metal strips which are each welded above and below at opposite ends of the common metal strip. A pair of vertical retaining posts located at each end of the nail clipping unit hold lever arms which can be stored in the flat position or rotated around and put into the use position as in conventional nail clippers. In this way a manufacturer can produce a combined toe and finger nail clipper more economically than two separate nail clippers and the user can store the combined nail clipper in a smaller space without worrying about locating two separate clippers. The clipper can be constructed so that while one of the clippers is in use the cutting edges of its other are closed or only slightly open so as to avoid the corners of the cutting edges catching or scratching a finger of the user.

Abstract:

Methods and systems for determining the importance of each of the variables, or combinations of variables, that contribute to the overall score generated by a predictive statistical model are presented. In a specialized case, for each variable in the model, an importance is calculated based on the calculated slope and deviance of the predictive variable. In a more general case, for each variable in the model, an importance is calculated based on setting that variable to have the average value for the data set, and then calculating the change in score. The totality of variables (or combinations thereof) is then ranked by the Δscore, or a magnitude of it, such as |Δscore|.
