Abstract:

The present invention is a robotic arm with a plurality of telescoping tubes coupled rotatably to a plurality of rings through apertures in the rings. A plurality of tendons pass through the telescoping tubes. Tension is applied to the plurality of tendons to move the telescoping tubes. A controller is employed to direct the amount of tension applied whereby the robotic arm moves as directed.

Abstract:

The present invention is a device for detecting modulated or active infrared light comprises a photodiode mounted on the base aperture of a wave guide for focusing infrared light onto the photodiode. The wave guide is preferably pyramid shaped and has a reflective surface on the inner surface. The apex of the wave guide comprises an acute angle from about 5 degrees to about 10 degrees. Units to process the signal and amplify the signal are attached thereto. The device may also include a Fresnel lens and a means to adjust the voltage of the active infrared signal processing means to improve detection capabilities.

Abstract:

The present invention comprises a mechanical timer that operates by using the ambient temperature differences during daytime and nighttime periods in order to count desired intervals of days, months, etc. Embodiments of the invention employ the timer to render safe land mines or other ordnance devices after a specified period of time. Because the present invention uses ambient temperature differences in order to operate, no outside power source is required.

Abstract:

The present invention comprises an extension tube that attaches to the bore end of a water jet producing device that is used to render safe improvised explosive devices by disrupting the firing train of said devices. The present invention comprises an extension tube having a sudden enlargement of cross section, that may be formed by adjusting the dimensions of the interior diameter of the extension tube, at the point of attachment, and a series of apertures in the attachment tube. The extension tube provides a more uniform jet of water with more focused energy by containing the jet until breech pressures are vented. Better control of the water jet will be maintained during firing operations. Further, more energy may be put into the water jet to accomplish specific tasks.
