Abstract:

An apparatus and method are disclosed for improved operation and functionality of a spring-loaded mousetrap. The improved mousetrap comprises two hooks in place of the standard trigger for engaging a Cheerio. Alternative embodiments comprise alligator clips. The mousetrap is baited with a Cheerio, and primed by using the Cheerio and hooks or alligator clips to hold down the locking lever of the mousetrap. When the Cheerio is nibbled by a mouse, the Cheerio breaks with tensile force applied by the primed locking lever, and the jaw snaps forward, killing the mouse.

Abstract:

A roller reamer/stabilizer apparatus for use on a drill string assembly. The apparatus includes a reamer body which has a number of pockets formed in the body. A cutter assembly is anchored in each pocket. The cutter assembly includes a bearing pin on which two bearing blocks are mounted with a reamer cutter mounted in between the two bearing blocks. The entire cutter assembly is first assembled and is then placed in a corresponding pocket of the reamer body. The cutter assembly is secured within the pocket by means of pull pins which are inserted transversely through the reamer body so as to engage corresponding holes which are formed in the bearing blocks of the cutter assembly. The pull pins are secured by means of snap rings that can be easily removed so that the pull pins can then be retracted to permit the cutter assembly to be replaced after it is worn.

Abstract:

A vibration dampener for use on top-drive rotary drills. The apparatus of the present invention comprises a generally cylindrical housing having a cylindrical side, a top, a bottom, and a central divider plate. The top of the housing has an externally threaded bore therethrough which may be connected to the rotary drive of the drill. A central, coaxial tube is slidably received within the housing. The downward end of this tube may be connected to the drill pipe, and the tube thus provides a conduit through which air may be forced. A generally circular compression plate is connected within the housing to the central tube so as to be adjacent and substantially parallel to the bottom of the housing. A resilient pad is positioned between the compression plate and the central divider plate such that an upward force on the central tube causes the compression plate to be lifted and the resilient pad to be compressed between the compression plate and the divider plate. A plurality of radial paddle members are connected within the housing to the central tube so as to lie just above the central divider plate.

Abstract:

An apparatus for protecting a wound. The apparatus includes a waterproof shield element to cover a wound area of a user's body, where the elevated top surface of the shield element is elevated away from the user's body. A retention mechanism selectively retains the shield element against the user's body, utilizing the elevated top surface to create a normal force between the shield element and the user's body to thereby form an effective seal between the shield element and the user's body.
