Abstract:

Methods and systems for automatically controlling aircraft takeoff rolls. A method in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes receiving an indication of a target takeoff roll path for an aircraft, and automatically controlling a direction of an aircraft, while the aircraft is on a takeoff roll, to at least approximately follow the target takeoff roll path. The method can further include providing an input to a rudder of the aircraft and, upon receiving an indication of an engine failure, can transfer the input from the rudder to a rudder trim element. In still further embodiments, the method can include commanding a ground track angle when an airspeed of the aircraft reaches a threshold value, and maintaining the ground track angle as the airspeed of the aircraft exceeds the threshold value.

Abstract:

A multi-tiered data storage system for building management system (BMS) data includes a plurality of data stores including a first data store and a second data store. The system further includes a data access router configured to provide a consistent endpoint for the BMS data to an application that provides or consumes the BMS data regardless of whether the BMS data is stored in the second data store or the first data store, obtain a requested data object of the BMS data from the second data store in response to a determination that the requested data object is available in the second data store, and obtain the requested data object from the first data store in response to a determination that the requested data object is not available in the second data store.

Abstract:

A central plant optimization system for designing and operating a central plant includes a planning tool, a central plant controller, and an optimization platform. The planning tool is configured to generate a model of the central plant. The central plant controller is configured to receive the model of the central plant from the planning tool and combine the model of the central plant with timeseries data including a timeseries of predicted energy loads to be served by equipment of the central plant. The optimization platform is configured to receive the model of the central plant combined with the timeseries data, construct an optimization problem using the model of the central plant and the timeseries data, solve the optimization problem to determine an optimal allocation of the energy loads across the equipment of the central plant, and provide optimization results to the central plant controller. The central plant controller is configured to use the optimization results to operate the equipment of the central plant to achieve the optimal allocation of the predicted energy loads.
