Abstract:

An inner turbine seal is formed of a full annular vane platform structure (32) and a full annulus seal land structure (60). These two structures are splined together (48, 50, 64) and piston ring (70) seals against leakage between the two structures. Radial differential growth between the structures is permitted. Vane platform structure (32) may therefore be designed to minimize stresses in the vane area (26, 28) while seal land structure (60) may be designed to minimize leakage through knife edge seals (22, 62).

Abstract:

A method for inertia welding axially symmetric articles while controlling the gripping force applied to the rotating component is described. A spacer inserted into the rotating headstock creates an alternative path for the axial force in excess of that required for causing gripping of the rotating component, and thus minimizes distortion of the inertia welded article. This is particularly useful in welding high strength superalloy articles, where extremely high axial forces are required to produce an adequate weld joint.

Abstract:

A magnetic pot stabilizer for multiple twist spindles, includes a protective pot supported by a portion of a rotatable spindle and supporting one or more spools of thread. The pot includes an internal circumferential trough around the perimeter of the bottom surface, and a generally planer circular magnet belt which has a central opening for passage of the spindle therethru and an extended portion carrying spaced pins depending into the trough for separating and locating magnets carried in the trough. Two L-shaped brackets located outside of the pot and curcumferentially spaced around the pot adjustably carry magnet holders each having a plurality of magnets mounted therein which cooperate and coact with the magnets inside the pot to prevent the port from moving when the spindle rotates.

Abstract:

An oral product in the form of an edible film is provided herein. The edible film can include a binder in an amount of at least about 30 percent by weight; a plasticizer in an amount of at least about 5 percent by weight; and an active agent, wherein the edible film is orally dissolvable. The edible film can also be used as a component of another oral product, e.g., a fleece-based pouched product. The edible film can form a coating on a portion of an interior or exterior surface of a fleece-based pouched product.

An embodiment of the present disclosure is an acoustic logging tool for determining a characteristic of a ground formation during a drilling operation. The acoustic logging tool includes a transmitter section that houses a transmitter that is configured to emit an acoustic signal and a receiver section spaced from the transmitter section along an axial direction. The receiver section includes a receiver that is configured to receive at least a portion of the acoustic signal. The acoustic logging tool also includes an isolator section positioned between the transmitter section and the receiver section along the axial direction.
