Abstract:

A unit pixel of a display includes a driver circuit, a memory circuit and a current controller. The driver circuit is configured to drive a light emitting device. The memory circuit is coupled to the driver circuit, and is configured to store image data for the unit pixel. The current controller circuit is coupled to the driver circuit, and configured to control a current flowing through at least a portion of the driver circuit such that the driver circuit drives the light emitting device with a constant or substantially constant current.

Provided is an active matrix light emitting diode (AMOLED) display. A driver circuit of the AMOLED display can be easily manufactured in a simple structure in a current programming method. The AMOLED display programs a voltage corresponding to a current necessary for the operation of an OLED in a memory capacitor, and induces and stores a voltage corresponding to a driving voltage in the memory capacitor while making a preset current flowing between a source and a drain of a driving transistor.

An active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display includes a plurality of the unit pixels. The unit pixels and AMOLED displays are more easily manufactured in a simpler structure and capable of displaying higher quality images by effectively suppressing changes in pixel brightness according to a threshold voltage shift of a driving transistor.

Abstract:

A luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) for receiving electromagnetic radiation of at least a first wavelength is disclosed. The LSC includes a core layer. A lower clad layer substantially underlies the core layer. At least one photovoltaic (PV) cell is partially embedded in at least one of the core layer and the lower clad layer. At least one dye layer substantially overlies the core layer. The at least one dye layer has embedded therein at least one absorption dipole and at least one emission dipole, the at least one emission dipole being coupled to the at least one absorption dipole. The at least one absorption dipole is configured to absorb the electromagnetic radiation of at least a first wavelength incident from any direction and the at least one emission dipole is configured to emit electromagnetic radiation of at least a second wavelength substantially within at least one of the core layer and the lower clad layer so that the electromagnetic radiation of at least a second wavelength is at least partially absorbed by the at least one PV cell. The at least one absorption dipole is coupled to the at least one emission dipole by Forster resonant energy transfer (FRET).

Abstract:

A circuit design technique polysilicon thin-film transistor (TFT) circuitry produces circuits that are relatively less sensitive to threshold variations among the TFT's than circuits designed using conventional techniques. The circuit is designed such that thin-film transistors that are sensitive to threshold variations are made larger than other thin-film transistors in the circuitry to minimize threshold variations among similar transistors implemented in the circuit. In one embodiment, a pixel structure for an active matrix display device implemented in polysilicon includes two transistors, a select transistor and a drive transistor. The drive transistor in the pixel structure is a thin film metal oxide silicon (MOS) transistor that includes a gate to source capacitance sufficient to hold an electrical potential which keeps the transistor in a conducting state for an image field interval. One embodiment of the pixel structure includes only the select transistor and the drive transistor. The pixel storage capacitance is entirely realized by the gate to source capacitance of the drive transistor.

Abstract:

An integrated circuit having Radio Frequency Identification components and circuitry used for authentication is discussed. The RFID components and circuitry include two or more coils and corresponding electrical circuits that are tuned to use two or more different resonant frequencies including: a first resonant RF used for power generation and a second resonant RF used for data communication. The integrated circuit contains a unique signature that is used for the authentication with two or more aspects including i) a first aspect that is a programmed password in a memory embedded on the integrated circuit, and ii) a second aspect that is a unique, randomly generated code based upon a physical characteristic of the integrated circuit.
