Abstract:

A method and device for vacuum assist picking and placing a first component part relative to a second component part in preparation for ultrasonically welding the first component part to the second component part and ultrasonically welding the first component part to the second component part with the combination ultrasonic weld horn/vacuum pickup. A combination ultrasonic weld horn/vacuum pickup includes an ultrasonic weld horn including a vacuum conduit. A vacuum or negative pressure is directed through the vacuum conduit providing necessary suction at the tip of the weld horn to permit the weld horn to pick and hold a first component part during positioning of the part for welding to a second component part. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the conduit is formed as a bore milled along a longitudinal axis of the weld horn.

Abstract:

A shutter for a print head of a print cartridge is provided. The shutter includes a cover movably attachable to the print cartridge. The cover is movable between a closed position to cover the print head and an open position to expose the print head. An arm is pivotally attachable to the print cartridge and is movably attached to the cover. A biasing device for biasing the cover in the closed position is attached to the arm and is attachable to the print cartridge.

Abstract:

A universal inkjet cartridge body with multiple ink reservoirs that can be used for single color or multiple color applications. The ink flow routing is accomplished by merely changing the printhead-to-body sealing structure, which can be an adhesive pattern. This allows for all the reservoirs' inks to be mixed at the head for one cartridge configuration, or the respective inks can be directed to different parts of the printhead for a multiple color application. The same cartridge body structure can be used for two or more cartridge configurations. A nose piece structure defines multiple ink channels leading from the respective ink reservoirs to a printhead mounting region. The sealing structure is applied to mount the printhead to the nose piece and to complete the ink path routing from the reservoirs to the printhead nozzle array(s).
