Abstract:

This disclosure concerns an apparatus and methods for reproducing compaction and ejection events in a plurality of press machines. Each press machine has at least one die opening wherein a compound is placed to be compressed at least once between upper and lower punches sliding inside the said die whereupon the compressed compound is ejected from the die cavity. The apparatus and methods ensure that the plurality of compression and ejection events have the same exact speed, profile curvature, and pressure or force as on any pre-specified press machine by matching the timing and geometrical path of the punch movements as well as the depth of fill of the die. The linear speed of the punches is matched by a computer controlling the programmable motor of the die carrier. The path protiles of the punches are matched mechanically by means of interchangeable rollers and cams with the predefined geometry. The pressure or forces of the matching events are controlled and adjusted by means of the positioning of the lower punch in the die.

Abstract:

A reaction torque actuator has a sensor operatively coupled between a motor housing and an outer housing. A pair of bearings support the motor within the outer housing in a spaced, concentric relationship. The bearings allow a mutual angular displacement of the housing about the axis of rotation of the output shaft of the motor, but they isolate the sensor from the axial and radial moments. A resolver surrounds the shaft at its output end to produce a signal that accurately measures the angular position of the shaft. A controller regulates power to the motor windings as a function of signals from the resolver and the sensor and torque commands. In a preferred form for use in robotics where very accurate force control is desired, the motor: is a brushless D. C. motor, the sensor is of the strain gauge type, and the controller uses high quality amplifiers, sine wave commutation, cable shielding, and filtering to limit the noise generated by electronic switching.

Aspects of the present application relate to systems and methods for automated web-based filter tuning. The method can include receiving information characterizing a plurality of attributes of a web server and normalizing the received information. The method can include identifying a set of relevant tags to the web server via comparison of the normalized received information to data contained in a tag database, and forming a set of signatures relevant to the web server based at least in part on the set of relevant tags. The method can include receiving an administrator selection of at least some of the set of signatures, enabling the selected at least some of the set of signatures for filtering of received web requests.
