Abstract:

The preferred arrangement utilizes a magnet suspended at the center of an elastic cord over a pickup coil. Movement of the magnet is sensed by the coil in that signals are generated by such movement. The signals are processed in the combination of a time delay circuit and a comparator to provide an output which is a measure of acceleration of the element on which the elastic cord is mounted and, in one form, by a measure of jerk in a similar time delay circuit and comparator combination.

Abstract:

Markers, microwave probes, and related systems and methods are provided for localizing lesions within a patient's body, e.g., within a breast. The marker includes an energy converter e.g., one or more photodiodes, for transforming energy pulses striking the marker into electrical energy, a switch, e.g., FET, coupled to the photodiodes such that light from a probe cause the switch to open and close. A pair of antenna wires are coupled to the switch to provide an antenna, the switch configured to open and close when light strikes the photodiodes to modulate signals from the probe reflected by the antenna back to the probe to identify the location of the marker. The marker also includes an electro static discharge (ESD) protection device coupled to the switch to provide protection against an electrostatic discharge event.

Abstract:

A depth restrained cutting device for preventing unintended contact with live wires includes a plate that is rigid. The plate is configured to couple to a cutting tool. A cutting edge is coupled to and extends radially from a circumference of the plate. A stop is coupled to a first face of the plate. The stop is dimensionally smaller than the plate. The stop is configured to contact a surface of a substrate that is to be cut, such as a polyvinyl chloride pipe, to prevent contact of the cutting edge with articles, such as wires, that are positioned in the substrate.

Abstract:

Improvements in a cargo holder is disclosed. The cargo hold is configurable to accommodate a variety of different shapes and sizes to retain cargo or boxes in an essentially fixed secure position. Monkey Grabs cargo hold takes the standard four tied down areas in the bed of a vehicle and convert to 24 optional tied down areas. The cargo hold do not include any metal components. The cargo hold has multiple securing loops along lengths of the straps for a user to connect into the ends and along the length of the strap to create additional securing locations. This makes the cargo hold a far more useful cargo hold. The cargo hold is configured in a rectangular configuration to connect along the sides of the bed of a truck and also placed across the bed for more versatile uses of the monkey grip cargo hold.
