Abstract:
This proportioner (10) is used in conjunction with a water supply connector (12) to provide a fluid mixing device for water and liquid detergent. The proportioner (10) includes a valve body (20) providing an inlet nozzle (14) and an air gap chamber (15) and an outlet (18) housing a venturi system (16). The venturi system (16) includes a venturi nozzle (40) aligned with the inlet nozzle (14) and having deflecting flats (42), a venturi tube (46) and a venturi throat (52) communicating with a detergent induction fitting (50).
A vacuum actuated chemical dispenser. The dispenser includes a chemical chamber and a vacuum chamber. The dispenser further includes a chemical chamber piston and a vacuum chamber piston located and movable within their respective chambers. A coil spring associated with the pistons returns the pistons to a pre-vacuum actuated position. The pistons are adjustable in order to adjust the measured amount of chemical to be dispensed from the chemical chamber.
This magnetically operated valve and timer assembly (30) can be used to open a feed line (14) leading to a spray head (22) within a chemical feed block (12) to dispense a chemical solution. The assembly (30) includes a valve (34) having a valve closure plunger (52) which is moved into the open position for a predetermined time under the attraction of a magnet assembly (66) mounted to the valve (34). The time period is determined by timer (36) which is connected to the magnet assembly. The timer (36) includes a cylinder (80) receiving a piston (100) in sliding relation, the piston including a head (102) a rearward shaft (104), having a knob (108), and a forward shaft (106) connected to the magnet assembly. The piston head (102) includes a tapered groove (122) for an annular cup seal (126) which moves into a position in the groove during the forward stroke to facilitate fluid flow past the seal ( 126) from one side of the piston to the other. The seal (126) moves into a different position in the groove (122) to preclude fluid flow past the seal during the return stroke so that fluid must flow through the head by way of restrictive passages (120) thereby retarding the return stroke.
This selector valve (20) may be used to control flow from a chemical supply (22) and a proportioner (14) attached to a faucet (12). The valve includes a valve body (30) having a central passage (32) receiving a rotatable stem assembly (38) having a stem (40) provided with interior passages (94, 96). The stem passages (94, 96) selectively communicate between an inlet line (18) and any one of a plurality of transverse intermediate passages (44, 46 and 48), or a transverse outlet passage (50), and an outlet line (16) depending on the rotational position of said stem (40). Each intermediate passage (44, 46 and 48) includes a metering adaptor (54, 56 and 58) and the outlet passage (50) also includes a metering adaptor (60). When the stem passages (96) is aligned with the metering adaptor (54, 56 and 58) of an intermediate passage (44, 46 and 48) fluid flows through that adaptor by way of connecting passages (102, 100, 104 and 87) to the outlet line (16). When the stem passage (96) is aligned with the metering adaptor (60) of the outlet passage (50) fluid flows through that adaptor directly to the outlet line (16).
This diverter valve (12) is used in conjunction with a faucet (14) and provides for partial diversion of the water supply to a chemical block feeder (20). The diverter valve includes a body 24 having an inlet (26) an outlet 28 and a connecting intermediate passage (32). A transverse diverter passage (42) on one side of the body 24 communicates with the intermediate passage (32) and the diverter passage is closed by an aligned plunger (50) mounted to the opposite side of the body (24). The plunger (50) is withdrawn from its closure position by pulling outwardly and is maintained in the open position by water pressure to partially divert water into the diverter passage (42) to supply diluted chemical into a sink (16).
