Abstract:

A computer integrated communication system for restaurants that includes a central server and a series of table units and staff units. The table and staff units each include a display and wireless communication device that enables customer request information and other communications to be sent from the table unit to the staff units either directly or by first being passed through the central server unit. The central server further can monitor the communications and direct the request to another staff member or management for action in the event of delays or other problems with the customer's request.

Abstract:

Core rods or other glass components associated with optical fiber preforms are cleaned by loading them into a number of first sleeves, and partially obstructing entrance and exit ends of the sleeves to retain the components. The sleeves are contained inside a second sleeve so that the entrance ends of the first sleeves face an entrance end of the second sleeve. A fluid delivery system supplies cleaning fluids to the entrance end of the second sleeve, so that the fluids enter the first sleeves and contact exposed surfaces of the loaded components. The fluids leave the exit ends of the first sleeves and purge from an exit end of the second sleeve. Separators may be placed between the components in the first sleeves to enhance cleaning action and to cushion adjacent end faces of the components. Cleaned components may be unloaded from the first sleeves without risk of contamination.

Abstract:

An output power limiter system (PLS) for audio amplifiers may be designed as a feedback control system for protection of the load and/or quality of the audio experience. The PLS may use comparator to sense the output current, compare it to a specified threshold, and assert a signal when the output current reaches and exceeds the specified threshold. The output signal from the comparator may enable a counter that is clocked with a high frequency clock to begin counting to measure the pulse-width of the comparator output. The output of the counter may be averaged through a fast attack and slow release infinite impulse response (IIR) filter having programmable settings to generate a rate of attenuation or rate of release that adjusts a gain correction in terms of decibels (dB). The output of the IIR filter may then be used for attenuating the output current.

Abstract:

A single integrated circuit includes a single boost converter, a first circuit, a second circuit, and a controller. The single boost converter supplies power to the first and second circuits. The controller receives an operational mode signal and in response to the operational mode signal, drives the single boost converter to respectively provide power to the first and second circuits. When the first and second circuits are simultaneously active, the controller manages an operation of the first circuit so that proper operation of the second circuit is maintained. The first circuit may be an LED flash driver, and the second circuit may be an audio amplifier, such as a Class-D audio amplifier. The controller manages an operation of the audio amplifier so that a sufficient amount of current is supplied to the LED flash driver for proper operation of the LED flash driver.

Abstract:

A looped elastic waistband (14) is positioned along a circular sewing path (12) with the waist edge (21) of a pair of pants (12) in straddling relationship thereover. The garment parts are advanced past a folding assembly (61), which folds the waist edge (21) of the pants (16) over the waistband (14), and past sewing needles (13) that form lines of stitching along the aligned edges of the pants (16) and waistband (14) and through the folded portion (22) of the pants waist (19). In the meantime, the position of the waist edge (21) of the pants (16) over the waistband (14) is adjusted in response to position the waist edges (21) as detected by body edge sensor (13) which controls the reciprocation of a pair of drive wheels (87 and 88) of an edge guide assembly (86) which engage and urge the waist edge (21) of the pants (16) across from the sewing path (12). An expansion roller assembly (62) maintains tension in the waistband (14) and the waist edge (20) of the pants (16) during a sewing operation, and is pivotable to equalize tension in the waistband (14) and pants (16).

Abstract:

A machine for automatically producing a mattress border with handles sewn to the border material. Border material is pre-fed from a selected spool, screened for splice avoidance and measured. Handle material is fed from a selected spool mounted in a multiple handle material spool magazine mounted on rails, fed into a handle folding assembly, and cut to length. Ends of the handle material are folded under by the handle folding assembly and the handle then transferred in a folded condition from the handle folding assembly to a correct position on the border material. A double frame handle press holds each folded end of the handle material in place as each end is maneuvered under a sewing head needle to apply a stitch pattern to secure the folded ends to the border material. The double frame handle press is translated separately from the carriage assembly which travels in the sew pattern, to position the other end of the handle under the sewing needle.

The waistband attachment system includes a sewing head assembly (16), a puller roller assembly (24), a waistband expansion assembly (44), a bottom edge guide assembly (64), a folder wire (102), a top edge guide assembly (128), and a folder assembly (148) about which the elastic waistband and the unfolded waist edge of the garment are passed.
