Abstract:
An apparatus for printing an image on an object includes electronic image storage for storing the image and a print head positioned in spaced-apart relation to the object for receiving electronic data representing the image. The image is printed onto the object using an ink that is applied with a predetermined electrical charge polarity. A voltage generator generates an electrical charge having opposite polarity charge in relation to the predetermined charge polarity of the ink proximate the object and at a position to accelerate the ink being applied from the print head onto the object. A tray is provided for holding a plurality of the objects in a fixed orientation while the image is printed. The tray includes a plurality of cradles for receiving respective objects and a rotation assembly for rotating the cradles in unison to position a desired surface of the objects in proper orientation for printing.

Abstract:
An apparatus for printing an image on an object that includes electronic image storage for storing an image to be printed on a image surface of the object, and a print head positioned in spaced-apart relation to the object for receiving electronic data representing the image to be printed through the ink jet print head and applying the image to object using an ink that is applied with a predetermined electrical charge polarity. A voltage generator generates an electrical charge having an opposite polarity charge in relation to the predetermined charge polarity of the ink, and applies the opposite charge proximate the object and at a position to accelerate the ink being applied from the print head onto the object.

Abstract:
A tray for holding at least one object while an image is printed on a predetermined exposed portion of the object, including at least one object retainer carried by the tray and for positioning the object in a stationary condition in relation to the tray during printing, a panel carried by the tray and having at least one opening positioned in relation to the object retainer such that the exposed portion of the object is exposed to ink projected onto the object from an ink-projecting apparatus positioned in spaced-apart relation to the object, and an indexer carried by the tray for permitting relative movement between the tray and the ink-projecting apparatus as the image is printed on the exposed portion of the object.

Abstract:
The application of image transfer paper and a wrap to a curved surface of a container is described. A device for affixing the image transfer paper and wrap includes a base, a support member to support the container, and two wrap applicator arms coupled to the base in a pivoting manner. The support member includes a shoulder and, when the container is placed upon the support member, an edge of the container around an opening of the container rests upon the shoulder and a perimeter of the shoulder extends beyond a perimeter of the edge of the container. The shoulder receives the image transfer paper and aligns the image transfer paper with the edge of the container. Each wrap applicator arm is configured to receive a respective end of the wrap. Rotating the wrap applicator arms about the support member stretches the wrap around the container and image transfer paper.
Direct-To-Product Transfer Of Personalized Images And Tracking Labels Using A Single Composite Image
The printing tracking labels as a part of a composite image of personalized images for photo products includes receiving a plurality of personalized images and a plurality of label images, each label image including order tracking information associated with one of the plurality of personalized images. A composite image including the plurality of personalized images and the plurality of label images is generated. The position of each personalized image within the composite image corresponds to a position of a separate photo product on a printer tray and the position of each label image within the composite image corresponds to a position of a separate label on the printer tray. The composite image is printed onto the plurality of photo products and the plurality of labels.
