Abstract:
A combustion-powered tool having a workpiece contacting element movable relative to the tool as the tool is depressed prior to firing includes a spark unit having a high voltage spark supply for providing an ignition spark, a printed circuit board having a first portion configured for receiving and being electrically connected to the high voltage spark supply, and a second portion configured for receiving and being electrically connected to both an actuator switch and a trigger switch, the switches and the spark supply being electrically connected so that to enable firing, the workpiece contact element actuates the actuator switch, which then enables activation of the trigger switch. A unitary actuator has a fixed end, a movable end engageable by movement of the workpiece contact element and a middle portion for engaging the actuator switch upon movement of the movable end caused by depression of the tool against a workpiece.

Abstract:
A combustion power framing tool the invention has a nosepiece for driving fasteners, a housing and a combustion chamber that produces primary power held within the housing. A fastener supply, such as a magazine, is attached to the housing to supply the fasteners. The tool has detects a condition and produces a signal based on that condition, then causes the primary power to vary in relation to the signal, returning the primary power to full power following driving of the fastener.

Abstract:
An angled strips of brads with a plurality of cohered brads having a shank with a tip portion. A head portion of at least some of the plurality of brads having a bulge protruding forwardly from the leading side thereof and extending at least partially into the trailing side of the head portion of an adjacent brad. An upper leading side portion of the head portions of the plurality of brads offset rearwardly of the leading side of the shank, whereby interlocking of adjacent head portions of the angled strip of brads is reduced. The rearwardly biased head portion is formed preferably with a rearwardly sloped riser portion of a header punch.

Abstract:
An adapter for connecting an electrical load which is mobile, such as the electrical system of a pleasure craft, to a stationary power source, such as the electrical pedestal at a marina. In its preferred embodiment, the adapter serves to connect a higher voltage load (such as a 240 volt electrical load of a pleasure craft) to a pair of conventional 120 volt sources. Input cables include a pair of connectors for independent connection to sources on the pedestal. Isolation means within the adapter serves to isolate the input connectors from each other during the connection operation such that a user holding one connector while connecting the other will not receive an electrical shock. Sensing means within the adapter determines that the sources are in the proper relationship to sum to the level required by the mobile load. When the sensing means determines that the sources are connected and in the proper relationship, contacts are closed connecting the summed inputs to the output for driving the load.
