Abstract:

A multi-purpose tool system including a workpiece support assembly and tool mount assembly operatively secured to a base structure. The tool mount assembly and workpiece support assembly typically are configured to be movable to provide tools and workpieces supported by those structures with a wide variety of movements relative to the base structure. In particular, the tool mount assembly may be configured to permit rotation of a tool mounted thereon about multiple axes of rotation relative to the base structure. In addition, the base structure may be configured to include a way assembly having one or more elongate way members, where the way assembly is modular to permit selective insertion and removal of one or more additional elongate way members to provide the way assembly with an adjustable length.

Abstract:

Techniques are presented for providing seamless extension porting. A second browser of a client device can receive a call to execute extension code containing function calls for a first browser. The extension code can further include a preload manifest key, which can include at least one bridge script property providing a bridge between function calls for the first browser and function calls for the second browser. In response to receiving the call to execute the extension code, the at least one bridge script property of the preload manifest key may be performed to execute the referenced bridge. Subsequently, remaining code of the extension code may then be executed. The bridge can receive function calls by the extension code. When a function call for the first browser is received, the bridge can map the function call for the first browser to a corresponding function call supported by the second browser.

Abstract:

Techniques and apparatuses for biometric gestures are described herein. In one or more implementations, a computing device includes a biometric sensor, such as a fingerprint touch sensor, that is configured to detect gesture input. When gesture input is received from a user, the biometric sensor detects biometric characteristics (e.g., a fingerprint) of the user and determines a gesture (e.g., a tap, touch and hold, or swipe) based on the gesture input. The user is authenticated if the biometric characteristics correspond to an authorized user of the device. If the user is authenticated, the device transitions to an authenticated user state that is associated with the type of gesture, such as by displaying personal information on a lockscreen of the computing device or opening a quick action center.

Abstract:

A system running on a mobile device such as a smartphone is configured to expose a user interface (UI) to enable a user to specify web pages that can be pinned to a start screen of the device. Once pinned, the user may launch a web page by voice command from any location on the UI or from within any experience that is currently being supported on the device. Thus, the user can be on a call with a friend talking about a new video game and then use a voice command to launch a web browser application on the mobile device that navigates to a pinned web page having information about the game's release date. Web pages can be readily pinned and unpinned from the start screen through the UI. When a web page is unpinned from the start screen, the system disables voice web navigation for it.
