Abstract:

This disclosure generally relates to stereoscopic images and stereoscopic video signals, and more specifically relates to encoding, distributing, and decoding stereoscopic images and stereoscopic video signals for use in television and high definition television systems, teleconferencing, picture phones, computer video transmission, digital cinema, as well as in other applications that include storage and/or transmission, over any suitable medium, of still or moving stereoscopic images, or combinations of moving and still stereoscopic images, in a form that is compatible with existing infrastructure, without requiring additional system functionality, while providing a means to allow higher resolution images to be distributed while maintaining compatibility with the existing infrastructure. The techniques hereof can be employed, for example, for distributing stereo 3D movies via optical disk, satellite, broadcast, cable, or internet, using current infrastructure, to consumers.

Abstract:

A transport stream decoder/demultiplexer is provided which includes a program clock recovery circuit for recovering a program clock from program clock reference (PCR) values contained in selected transport packets. A processor is provided for extracting elementary stream data from transport packets labeled with packet identification codes (PIDs) that are specified by a host processor. The processor separately stores the elementary stream data of each stream. A host processor interface is also provided for transferring data between an external host processor and the program clock recovery circuit. A memory manager may be provided for storing the data extracted by the processor for each elementary stream in a corresponding queue. The queues may be maintained by the memory manager in an external RAM. A descrambler interface may be provided for transferring scrambled data and data derived from conditional access information between the processor and an external descrambler.

Abstract:

Disclosed are various embodiments for a system and method for encoding sub-audible codes within a signal. One exemplary embodiment includes a method that includes receiving a first digital code and a second digital code; receiving a first block and a second block of a signal; embedding an echo of the first block of the signal in the second block of the signal to create a first modified second block of the signal in accordance with the first digital code; modulating the power of the first modified second block of the signal to create a second modified second block of the signal in accordance with the second digital code; and sending a modified signal including the second modified second block of the signal.
