Minnesota also claimed left-hander Mike Strong off waivers from the Miami Marlins. Strong was a 10th-round draft pick in 2011 by Milwaukee who has a 3.61 ERA in five minor league seasons. Strong went to Stillwater High School in Minnesota, as did Perkins.

Cowboy Duo Selected In Major League Baseball Draft
The selection of Freeman and Glover marks the first time since 2011 that Oklahoma State has had two players drafted in the top 10 rounds of the MLB Draft. In the '11 draft, Cowboys Chris Marlowe (5th round) and Mike Strong (10th) were both top-10 round selections.
