  • Assignee:
The Procter & Gamble Company - Cincinnati OH
  • International Classification:
    B65D 3556
  • US Classification:
    222105
  • Abstract:
A bag in squeeze bottle fluid dispenser capable of dispensing substantially all of the fluid product contained therein. A suitable bag support element is inserted inside the flexible bag to prevent substantial axial movement of the bag in the direction of its discharge orifice and to encourage radial collapse of the bag instead. The internal bag support means, which in a preferred embodiment comprises an extruded plastic helix, has an internal fluid passage formed within the coils of the helix and fluid communication to allow fluid contained within the bag to access the internal fluid passage along substantially the entire length of the internal bag support element. Thus, radial collapse of the flexible bag does not block the passage of fluid remaining in the bag through the discharge orifice in the bag until substantially all of the fluid contained within the bag has been dispensed. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the internal bag support element is inserted into the dispenser through the discharge orifice of the bag to a point substantially coinciding with the opposite end of the flexible bag after the bag has been filled with the fluid to be dispensed.

  • US Patent:
    50075411, Apr 16, 1991
  • Filed:
    Mar 16, 1990
  • Appl. No.:
    7/495258
  • Inventors:
Charles L. Gunn - Lawrenceburg IN
    Harold Davis - Reading OH
Milton D. Spahni - Harrison OH
Ronald H. Wanless - Lebanon OH
  • Assignee:
The Procter & Gamble Company - Cincinnati OH
  • International Classification:
    B65D 554
  • US Classification:
    206611
  • Abstract:
A container for housing granular materials and a blank for forming the container. The container is a six sided enclosure including a top wall, a back wall, a bottom wall, a front wall and two end walls. The front wall has an inner layer and an outer layer. The outer layer has a transverse tear strip therein and is attached to the inner layer below this tear strip. A glue flap is attached to the interior surface of the top wall and also attached to the top edge of the inner layer of the front wall along a perforated cut line. This configuration prevents the granular material from migrating between the layers of the front wall during shipping. Each end wall is comprised of several layers. Included are two main layers which together have a top edge. A tear strip panel extension is attached to the main layers below the tear strip.

  • Dispensing Package

  • US Patent:
    47829966, Nov 8, 1988
  • Filed:
    Oct 2, 1987
  • Appl. No.:
    7/104203
  • Inventors:
Milton D. Spahni - Harrison OH
  • Assignee:
The Procter & Gamble Company - Cincinnati OH
  • International Classification:
    B65D 3904
  • US Classification:
    22912509
  • Abstract:
A reclosable dispensing package which has a thin plastic fitment mounted over a cutout area in the closure flaps of a seal end carton. The fitment is affixed to the outer (last-folded) major flap. When the carton is flattened tubular form, the caliper of the fitment-equipped closure flaps is minimized by providing a second cutout area in the inner (first-folded) major flap, sized and located to receive a projecting end of the fitment therein. Minimizing caliper permits shipment in more compact form and enables packing machine operators to place greater numbers of cartons in the machine hoppers.
