    G06F 15/00
  • US Classification:
    382229, 715522
  • Abstract:
In accordance with this invention, a method, computer program product, and system for performing automated recognition of blocks of text within a graphic file are provided. The method, computer program product, and system automatically transform drawings into a graphic file format that provides enriched electronic display and text search of the graphic files. The text within large sets of drawings, parts catalogs, and various manuals is automatically discovered, extracted and indexed by the geometric location of the text within the graphic file. Single lines of text and blocks of text are recognized by utilizing geometric reasoning techniques based upon proximity and font characteristics. As such, the present invention automatically produces an interactive electronic representation of a graphic file that allows a user to quickly and accurately search graphic files for particular text, whether the text appears in a single line or over multiple lines in a block of text.

  • Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for converting raster illustrated parts images into intelligent vector-layered files. The method involves recognizing and removing reference labels from the raster illustrated parts image to produce a reference label scrubbed file. Reference lines are recognized and removed from the reference label scrubbed file to produce a scrubbed file. The scrubbed file includes a reusable base graphic. The scrubbed file is converted to a vector file in which the reusable base graphic is embedded. One or more vector layers are added to the vector file to produce the intelligent vector-layered file. Each vector layer includes vector elements corresponding to one of the recognized reference labels and its one or more reference lines.

A method, computer program product and system are provided for performing automated linking between sheets of a drawing set depicting an electronic representation of an electrical wiring diagram. The method, computer program product, and system automatically transform drawings into a format that provides enriched electronic display and navigation among drawings. Connections and relationships among large sets of drawings are automatically discovered and extracted by utilizing complex graphical recognition and logical inference. Links are then created that represent the connections and relationships between common elements of the drawings. As such, the present invention automatically produces an interactive electronic representation of a drawing set that allows a user to quickly and accurately view, highlight and/or alter a portion of a drawing and all of the drawings that connect to or also depict that portion.

  • International Classification:
    G09G 5/00
    G06T 11/20
    G06T 1/00
  • US Classification:
    345619, 345441, 345522
  • Abstract:
A computer algorithm that is able to convert a parent CGM file, which may include a plurality of disparate methods of defining objects or high-level primitives, with low-level primitives to produce a child or normalized CGM file that includes a normalized or standard way of defining these same objects. The computer algorithm iterates over the information stored in the parent CGM file to find associations in stored vectors to determine whether disparate elements, such as segments or arcs, are used to define more complex objects. It then normalizes the data into the more complex objects to produce a normalized CGM file. Therefore, the child CGM file includes standardized high-level primitives and less overall data complexity.

    G06F 17/50
    G06F 19/00
  • US Classification:
    703 1, 700 97, 700104
  • Abstract:
The method, system and computer program product for automatically generating a subset of components include receiving a request to generate a subset of components, accessing connectivity data that includes information regarding at least the components and connections among the components, and automatically selecting portions of the connectivity data that satisfy the request to generate the subset of components. The subset may then be used to generate a diagram of the subset of components from the portions of the connectivity data that satisfy the request. Thus, the method, system and computer program product are capable of efficiently creating subsets/families of components from electronic schematic diagrams because the portions of connectivity data that satisfy a request for a subset of components are automatically selected and a diagram of the selected components may be automatically generated.

The first vector graphics file is compared with the second vector graphics file in each vector graphics file pair in the set using a one or more rules to form one or more comparisons. Differences are identified between the first and second vector graphics file in each vector graphics file pair in the set based on the comparisons. A merged file is created for each vector graphics file pair in the set containing differences from the comparisons to form results. The results are displayed in a graphical user interface after creating the merged file.
