Interests:

Internationalization of higher education; particularly, institutional relationships between universities in the Western hemisphere. My dissertation study is a case study about the institutional relationship between an American public university and a Mexican private university. The investigation studies the rationales for the creation of the inter-institutional relationship, the program and organizational strategies that followed its implementation, and potential implications of change in each institution as a result of the alliance. The qualitative study consists of document examination and twenty semi-structured interviews with senior leadership, faculty, and staff at both universities. In general, my research interests include policy and organizational strategies for the internationalization of universities; innovation strategies and practices in higher education; organizational change in universities; and the political-economy of higher education in Mexico.
