Mr. Myron E. Thomas has been Director of Bands at Eau Claire High School since 1987. Before coming to Eau Claire, I taught at Hemmingway Middle School and High School in 1977, Bishopville High School, Ashwood High School, Bishopville Middle School from 1978-1980, and Timmonsville High School and Middle School from 1980-1987. I received a B.S. degree in Instrumental Music Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, S.C. I did post graduate work at Francis Marion University, Furman University, Columbia College, University of South Carolina, Berklee School of Music, and VanderCook School of Music and FullSail. Mr. I have conducted band clinics and camps at South Carolina State University, John C Smith University, Benedict College and Williamsburg County School District. I am a Governor’s School Intern, a member of The National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Music Education Association, South Carolina Band Director Association, and served on the Jazz committee for SCMEA. I am a Co-founder of The Blythewood Jazz Orchestra as well as the bass player.
